This weekend is graduation. It's always bittersweet for me. Amore employs high school students consistently. We love meeting them, teaching them, learning from them, watching them start out nervous and unsure and within months seeing them blossom. They learn every aspect of the pizzeria and are cross trained so that they are well rounded in their employment with us. They learn to recognize their strengths and work on weaknesses. And I hope that all those before and after this group know we do that for their future and we honestly adore each and every one of them. This year we have four seniors graduating. Four! And this group is pretty dang special. Of course two of them are actually related to me so I will start with them. Gabe Flanders. Carries something like a 4.billion GPA, always honest, always funny, always a gentleman. Everyone loves Gabe on staff. He's the light in the kitchen most busy nights. He makes your pizzas Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. He's into math but not sure what he wants to do yet and that's ok. He's off to college in the fall and we couldn't be more proud. Next up Sophia Juriga. Sweet Soph. She's quirky and artsy and always has her headphones on to drown out the noise. She's got a wicked sense of humor and a fashion sense beyond her years. She does salads, pizzas, subs and more. She's headed off to college for art and if you've seen her work, you can agree, she's got talent. Jacob Major is next. He's a handsome fella that plays a mean game of baseball. He's also on pizza once in awhile but is usually at the front of the house on the tables or on the phones. He's polite, smart, funny, encouraging to his coworkers and shows a level of compassion for others often not found for his age. He's off to college to play baseball and become someone famous for something. He's too charismatic not to. Sidenote he was upset recently after receiving his first bad review on a pizza he made and he handled it perfectly. Its humbling to be human sometimes bud but you cant let it keep ya down. Shake it off. Move ahead. And always bring the bacon ;) ;) Last but definitely not least is the young lady that we say is our boss. Samantha Stately. She's a powerhouse. She's drop dead gorgeous, intelligent, organized, able to do a million tasks at one time and of course funny. She's who I wish I was at that age. Full of class. Heck she's already got a year of college under her belt. She's into criminal justice and although excels at customer service, wants nothing to do with it after Amore. Lol She's my right hand most days and when she's in the building every staff member is relieved because she does it all. She trains the new staff because if I could clone her, I'd have already done it so since I can't if they learn from her, it's the next best thing. These four young adults are the best of the best. We are so proud. We are so thankful they chose to be a part of Amore. We look forward to seeing what their futures hold. We know that each of them will continue to grow into amazing human beings that do big things. ❤️ We wish we could be at your graduation ceremony. We really do. But instead we will keep just a few of us on pick up only for Friday and Saturday so that you and your families can enjoy this accomplishment. You earned it. You deserve it. We love you.
For our customers, please extend us the understanding that there is no dine in or delivery Friday and Saturday this week. Most of our support or coverage staff are relatives of these 4 exceptional graduates. We will do pick up and carry out those evenings.
Congrats to all the graduates this weekend. Know that the first step to the rest of your life happens this weekend. It's exciting! You did it!!!
