I would like to take a moment to address the current situation regarding our bar. Over the past two years, we have worked tirelessly—first to reopen, and then to keep our doors open beyond peak season—to ensure our employees were paid and our operations remained stable. Despite these efforts, the revenue we generated this holiday season was not enough to sustain continued operations. Throughout this process, we have kept our staff informed through regular meetings and management updates.

After our last temporary closure, we made the decision to reopen in hopes that new ideas and renewed energy might turn things around. Unfortunately, this season did not bring the increase in business we needed. Closing before Christmas was one of the hardest choices we’ve had to make, and certainly not what we wanted for our team or our community.

The inconsistency in our opening and closing reflects just how heavy and difficult these decisions have been. We never wanted to let down our staff or the community that has stood by us.

Rebuilding over the past two years has been an immense challenge. When we took over the bar, we inherited significant pre-existing issues that required substantial time, resources, and investment to correct. Out of respect for those involved—and for the sake of our community—we chose not to make these matters public. Instead, our focus remained on moving forward, restoring the space, and creating an environment that our guests and team could be proud of.

Much of this work was essential, which included extensive repairs to the docks to ensure they were safe and functional. For the well-being of our guests and our staff but, unfortunately it was not attainable this year.

We were proud to offer unique and eclectic bar-food options intended to bring something fresh, fun, and exciting to the area. It has always been our goal to provide an experience the community could enjoy and call their own.

To everyone who has supported us—thank you. Your encouragement and loyalty helped carry us this far. And to our dedicated staff: your hard work, long days, and commitment have meant everything to us. Please know that we would have remained open if it had been possible.

We remain hopeful that next season will bring renewed opportunity and allow us to bring the bar back to the place we all know and love.

Kelus Riverside Bar & Grill will be closing for the season.
We want to thank everyone who came out to support us this year — the laughs, the music, and the good times by the river made it an unforgettable season!
We’ll be using the off-season to reset, recharge, and get ready for an even better year when we reopen.
Stay tuned for updates, events, and everything we’ve got planned for next season.
