A major realization is happening throughout many small communities, like the the one we live in, our clubs are clutching onto survival, many operating on a week by week basis, hoping another government ordered shut down doesn’t happen because they can’t imagine how they can financially open there doors after more weeks of zero revenue.
Many young people find their value in a clubs membership because some stay open a bit later, have prices a bit lower, but completely miss the community support that our clubs provide, supporting our local food pantries, youth athletics, churches, first responder organizations, Highschool scholarships, and many other unthought of activities.
Many of our clubs have an much older generation to thank for the organizations we sit in to enjoy a beer after work, grab a meal with a friend, and watch the big game. This is older generation are the people sitting safely at home hoping their 50 year of continued membership isn’t reminisced when they don’t have a club to go back to in safer times. This people are depending on the young guys to keep their clubs alive when they can’t.
Remember these things when you’re thinking about what to have for dinner, where to blow off some steam, the clubs have been there for their communities, it’s time for their communities to be there for them.
