Today was truly special at Amara’s. We had the honor of welcoming Juan Pablo Dos Santos, alongside journalist Luis Olavarrieta. I’ve followed Juan Pablo’s journey for some time, and the work he does through his foundation supporting amputees in Venezuela is incredibly inspiring—not only helping them receive prosthetics, but also empowering them to embrace this new chapter with strength and confidence.

One of the most beautiful things about Amara’s is how it allows us to connect with wonderful people doing meaningful work, building a little bridge between Los Angeles and Venezuela. 🇻🇪🤍 check out his work and please consider supporting his organization ❤️

Tuvimos el honor de recibir a Juan Pablo Dos Santos, junto al periodista Luis Olavarrieta. Desde hace tiempo sigo el trabajo de Juan Pablo y admiro profundamente la labor que realiza a través de su fundación apoyando a personas amputadas en Venezuela, no solo ayudándolas a conseguir sus prótesis, sino también motivándolas a abrazar esta nueva etapa con fuerza y confianza.

Una de las cosas más bonitas de Amara’s es que nos permite conectar con personas maravillosas que están haciendo un trabajo que inspira, creando un pequeño puente entre Los Ángeles y Venezuela. 🇻🇪🤍 Los invito a conocernos su trabajo y a donar a su fundación ❤️

Summer entertaining doesn’t have to mean hours sweating in the kitchen 👩🏻‍🍳

These Air Fryer Tostones are one of my favorite make-ahead tricks when friends come over. Crispy, gluten-free, and perfect for todo lo que quieras!

Quick recipe (so easy you’ll memorize it):

- Slice green plantains into thick rounds.
- Air fry at 375°F for 8–10 minutes until lightly golden.
- Smash them gently (the fun part!).
- Air fry again for 5–7 minutes until crispy.
- Finish with salt right when they come out.

That’s it. No deep frying, no mess.

At home, I love topping them with shredded chicken, carne mechada, or slow-roasted pork + a little fresh coleslaw (just like our Trio Tostones Plate at Amara 😉).

Even better? You don’t have to cook everything from scratch. Our housemade refrigerated meats are ready to take home—just heat, top, and listo!

Keep it simple with guac for an easy appetizer. Either way… they disappear fast!

In times of loss, we find comfort in continuing the work of those who have spent their lives feeding others with love and dignity.

At Amara, every arepa, empanada, coffee, and cup of hot chocolate is our way of honoring those traditions and the people behind them.
