We asked whether you believe the old Maryland warning that you should never make crab soup during a thunderstorm—and based on your comments, we’re declaring it TRUE!

Is it scientifically proven? Maybe not. But when this many Marylanders say their mothers and grandmothers warned them about it, we’re not taking any chances.

Is it scientifically proven? Maybe not exactly. But if you grew up around Maryland crab soup, chances are you’ve heard this warning from somebody’s mother or grandmother.
