One year ago today, on July 8th, we opened our doors on what would have been Joe’s birthday.

Naming this restaurant after my grandfather was our way of honoring a man who meant so much to our family. We couldn’t think of a better day to start this adventure than on his birthday.

Today we’re celebrating two milestones: Joe’s birthday and our first year in business.

After nearly 30 years apart, we’d like to think Joe is celebrating his birthday once again with his sweetheart, my Grandma Verlene. That thought brings our family a lot of comfort today.

To everyone who has stopped in for a meal, recommended us to a friend, shared a post, or supported our family this past year—thank you. Small businesses don’t make it through their first year without an incredible community behind them.

We’re grateful for every one of you and look forward to many more years to come.
