Some of you have been asking about 600 Ann Street, especially since we announced our new Dudley Avenue building, so I thought I’d share the story.
When we purchased 600 Ann Street in February 2024, we weren’t buying it because of the building.
We bought it because of the location.
Before starting SIPS, I spent 10 years as a travel surgical technologist, so I know what it’s like to work long shifts. Sometimes all you need is a really good cup of coffee, a fresh pastry, or a few minutes to yourself before work or on a break.
Being just steps from the hospital felt like the perfect place to do that. We wanted to be close to the people who spend their days taking care of everyone else.
What we didn’t know was that the property had once been an old gas station, and that discovery definitely changed our timeline.
We’ve spent the last couple of years working with the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, and we’re incredibly grateful to have qualified for a grant that will remove the underground storage tanks later this year.
Once that’s complete, our options for the property really open up.
In the meantime, we’re excited to welcome local food trucks on Fridays, creating another place to grab lunch, enjoy great coffee, and community.
And once the tanks are removed… that’s when the really exciting chapter begins.
We have some big ideas for 600 ANN PKB and how we can better serve the healthcare community.
We’re also excited about the new East Tower at WVU Medicine Camden Clark and the investment being made in our community. It’s exciting to see this part of Parkersburg continue to grow, and we’re looking forward to growing right alongside it.
