A FINAL MESSAGE FROM OUR FAMILY — THE GRECIAN GRAZER

Parker,

After an unforgettable year, The Grecian Grazer has officially closed its doors.

There is no dramatic story and nothing to speculate about.

WE DID IT. WE GAVE IT EVERYTHING WE HAD. AND NOW WE ARE CHOOSING US.

Running a restaurant taught us more than we could ever put into words. Rent, food, utilities, insurance, labor and virtually every cost of doing business continues to rise. The hours are relentless, and we leave this experience with tremendous respect for every restaurant owner and family who does this year after year.

But somewhere along the way, Katie and I realized something much more important:

WE MISS EACH OTHER.

Before the deli, we traveled together. We took trips. We flew home to see family. We went to our kids’ games and school functions. We participated in our community. We had time to simply be husband and wife.

And we finally realized:

OUR MARRIAGE AND OUR FAMILY ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANY BUSINESS WE WILL EVER OWN.

We miss being Sean and Katie.

We miss laughing together without talking about work.

We miss taking a trip without worrying about what’s happening back at the store.

We miss being Mom and Dad without simultaneously being restaurant owners.

And we miss waking up without feeling like somehow we’re doing something wrong, when we know in our hearts we’ve been doing everything we possibly can to do things right.

We’re done carrying that feeling.

Our children are only this age once. Our families aren’t getting younger. And Katie and I get one marriage and one life together.

We’re choosing to protect those things.

We’re choosing our marriage.

We’re choosing our children.

We’re choosing the games and school functions.

We’re choosing traveling again.

We’re choosing seeing our family.

We’re choosing being part of our community instead of constantly working while life happens around us.

We’re choosing each other.

And we’re incredibly at peace with that.

We’re also incredibly proud of what we accomplished. We built a little deli from nothing, made thousands of sangweeches and charcuterie boards, brought real New York bagels from Queens to Parker, sold out countless times, met wonderful people and gave our children the experience of watching their parents build something together.

Something doesn’t have to last forever to have been worth doing.

Sometimes having the courage to close a chapter is just as important as having the courage to begin one.

We’re not leaving Parker.

We’re coming back to it.

You’ll see us at the games, at school, around town, supporting local businesses and actually having the time to enjoy this community again.

For the handful of customers with confirmed charcuterie orders, we will honor those commitments through the end of the year. We stopped accepting new reservations about a week and a half ago, so please reach out directly and we’ll confirm everything with you.

And for everyone asking about the Queens bagels — message me personally. I’m happy to tell you exactly where they come from and how you can order them directly and have them shipped to your home.

To everyone who supported our family:

Thank you.

No drama. No mystery. No hard feelings.

Just two people who looked at each other after one incredible, exhausting year and realized:

WE MISS US.

And that’s more than enough reason.

We love you, Parker.

Thank you for an unforgettable year.

Now we’re going to spend some time being Sean & Katie, Mom & Dad — and a family again.

🇺🇸 2 DAYS UNTIL SEPTEMBER 11TH 🇺🇸

WE WILL NEVER FORGET.

As September 11th gets closer, we find ourselves thinking about something bigger than sandwiches, meats, cheeses, or running a deli.

COURAGE. FAMILY. PURPOSE.

Lately, we’ve had moments that made us ask questions we never thought we’d have to ask:

Why are we here?
Why did we open this little deli?
What are we trying to build?

And every time, the answer brings us right back to the same place.

PEOPLE.

Family. Community. Sitting across the table from somebody you love. Sharing food. Sharing stories. Remembering where you came from.

September 11th reminds us how quickly life can change — and how important it is to stand together when it does.

So this week, we’re finding courage in the legacy of those who came before us and remembering why we started The Grecian Grazer in the first place.

Feed people. Love people. Bring people together.

That’s enough of a reason for us.

🇺🇸 A PERSONAL PSA FROM THE GRECIAN GRAZER 🇺🇸

We’re extending our Labor Day weekend just a little longer. ❤️

We will be CLOSED Tuesday & Wednesday and BACK THURSDAY AT 10 AM.

We’re here every day putting our hearts and souls into this little deli — slicing meats, building charcuterie, making sangweeches and getting ready for a very busy fall and holiday season.

But this week is also a difficult and emotional one for our family.

September 11th means a great deal to us. 🇺🇸

As a family with deep New York roots, this time of year brings back a lot of memories, and some of them are incredibly hard. We need these couple of days to be together, spend time with our family, recharge and prepare ourselves for the week ahead.

We WILL be here Friday morning, September 11th.

That morning means something different to us. We’ll open our doors, honor the day, remember those we lost, and be together with our community.

Thank you, Parker, for allowing our family to do what we love every single day — and for understanding when we occasionally need a couple of days for ourselves.
