Breakfast and lunch are FREE for all students every school day through CEP! Strong participation helps us continue offering free meals for everyone.

September is also a special month at our elementary schools with Grandparents Day Breakfast & Book Fair events! ❤️📚 We’re excited to welcome grandparents and special guests to join us for breakfast.

🎉 A HUGE SHOUTOUT TO OUR SCHOOL NUTRITION TEAMS! 🎉

This week wrapped up health inspections for our school cafeterias, and we are incredibly proud of our Cafeteria Managers and staff for earning outstanding scores across the district!

These scores reflect the pride, hard work, and attention to food safety our teams demonstrate every single day. Many of our kitchens are in older buildings, but our staff continues to keep them clean, organized, safe, and ready to serve our students.

👏 Please help us congratulate our School Nutrition teams on this accomplishment! We are so thankful for the work they do behind the scenes each day to serve the students of Henry County Schools. ❤️

Required Public Notice: Henry County School System is required to make the attached notice available to the public regarding our participation in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2026–2027 school year.

📢 PUBLIC NOTICE | 2026–2027 SCHOOL YEAR

Henry County School System is pleased to announce that we will continue participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2026–2027 school year.

🍎 Breakfast and lunch will continue to be available at NO COST to all enrolled students.
✅ No meal application is required.

We encourage all of our students to take advantage of the nutritious breakfast and lunch meals available each school day! ❤️

Well… the first full day of school was a success, but things were so busy that we didn’t even have time to stop and take pictures! 😊

Thankfully, our friends at E.W. Grove Freshman Academy captured some great moments of freshmen enjoying their very first school lunch of the year, and we’re excited to share a few of those with you!

There’s nothing better than seeing smiling faces, full trays, and students reconnecting with friends. Here’s to a fantastic school year ahead—we’re grateful to fuel our students for success every day! ❤️💙🍎

A special shoutout to NW Consultant Trista Snider, DON Bethany Peppers, CSH Stephanie Winders, Team Building/Motivational Expert Amy Veazey, PMR & Rational Chefs Kim Buchanan & JoJo. Our team had an excellent couple of days of learning and now we are geared up and ready to feed the kids tomorrow morning!!

🍎 August Breakfast & Lunch Menus are here! 🥪

All students can enjoy FREE breakfast and lunch every school day—no application needed!

Students may choose from multiple daily options for both breakfast & lunch. Options vary by school, so be sure to check the menus for full details.

Even students who bring a lunchbox from home can still pick up a free school meal to supplement what they packed. There is no reason to miss out!

Strong student participation is important and helps support our ability to continue offering free meals through CEP. The more students who eat breakfast and lunch with us, the better our chances of keeping this benefit available for everyone.

Mission accomplished! 🕶️🕵️‍♀️

Henry County Schools was proud to host the 2026 School Nutrition Bootcamp: Mission Possible – Fueling Our Future, welcoming over 200 school nutrition professionals from 22 districts across Middle and West Tennessee for a day of learning, leadership and inspiration.

A special thank you to our outstanding speakers:

Our teams were equipped with valuable tools through sessions on Production Records, Inventory Management and Leadership.

Joe Pettit closed out the day by sharing his Seeds to Success and encouraging each of us with a plan to grow, lead and make our 🕵️‍♀️MISSION POSSIBLE!⭐

A special thank you to The Cutting Edge Caterer for providing a wonderful lunch for our attendees.

We also want to give a HUGE shoutout to the HCHS Student Ambassadors who helped guide our groups throughout the building and kept everyone on the right mission:

📍 Learning, Connecting and Bringing Home Fresh Ideas!

The School Nutrition Association Annual National Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina was an incredible opportunity to explore new equipment, sample products, discover fresh ideas and connect with school nutrition professionals and industry partners from across the country. 🍎🥛

The knowledge, inspiration and valuable connections gained will help Henry County School Nutrition continue finding new ways to improve the experience we provide for our students.

And as the pictures show, there was a little fun along the way too! 😊
