I am a strong believer that some of our best ideas come from talking with other people.

Our original floor plan included a small private party room for around 20 guests. But after hearing from the community that Panama City needs more indoor private venue options, we tweaked the plan just a little!

Joyful Noise will now include a private event space that can host up to 40 people—for workshops, birthday parties, showers, meetings, and other special gatherings.

This is exactly why community input matters. 💛

***This is a RENDERING, not a real image! We are currently in the design stage/pre build out -- we will post REAL images AND VIDEOS of the space as we build each piece! If you'd like to see a floorplan -- I have a link to it in my about me section!*** See less

Hey, friends! 👋

Did you know? I make all of the graphics and content we post here at Joyful Noise! (Excluding the renderings of the space—but let me assure you, it was a TASK getting ChatGPT to use my floor plan and understand what I was talking about. 😂)

Anytime you receive something from me, just know that I’ve put a TON of thought and love into it.

THAT BEING SAID!! Anyone who has signed up for the Joyful Moms Collective should have received a test email this morning! Do me a favor and check your emails.

If you’d like to join the Joyful Moms Collective— comment JOYFUL on this post and I’ll get the first issue sent your way!

This is such a fun community and concept, and I am so excited to be bringing it to life.

Fun fact: the dream for Joyful Noise came from an intense NEED for my own little village!

I grew up in a military family and was blessed to be part of some really tight-knit communities. Since becoming a mom myself, I’ve started to really notice the hurdles that come with being a parent and trying to maintain friendships. Meeting up in public spaces often comes with its own laundry list of challenges, leading us to sometimes decline invitations that we wouldn’t otherwise.

I’ve missed the days of community centers and block parties, and of meeting new people outside of my phone and computer screen.

I’ve hosted plenty of parties and events in my backyard—handling the heat AND the heavy cleanup afterward—because I couldn’t find somewhere that fit all of the needs I had.

I’ve met friends in restaurants and felt guilty for handing my kid a screen so I could chat with an adult for just 20 more minutes.

I’ve sat in the dreaded red-and-yellow play place so my little could play, we could avoid the 85-degree heat, and I could get some work done.

I needed a space like this. So I decided I was tired of being scared, and I was going to take the steps to help bring it into existence.

Help me choose the very first Joyful Moms Collective meet-up craft! 🌼

For our first outdoor gathering, we really want to be able to get to know one another. We’re looking for something relaxed, creative, and fun for US adults to make while our kids play nearby—or that they can join in on when they inevitably get curious.

Which activity would make you most excited to join us?

1. Seashell Picture Frames
Decorate a frame with our shells, beads, gems, and other fun little treasures—including any knickknacks your little just had to bring from home.

2. Bandana Bracelets
Choose from our collection of fabrics and beads to create a bracelet, necklace, or keychain featuring a meaningful word or phrase.

3. Painted Canvas Tote Bags
Paint your own reusable tote with fruit, flowers, Scripture, quotes, bugs, or anything else that feels like you.

Comment 1, 2, or 3 below—and tell us what you might like to make at a future gathering! 💙

Joyful Noise is excited to be joining the Bay County Homeschool Expo on July 14th!

We’ll be there sharing more about what we’re building in Downtown Panama City— a family-centered community hub with imaginative play, homeschool enrichment, creative workshops, parent connection, and space for families to gather and grow.

If you homeschool, are thinking about homeschooling, or are looking for more community and local resources for your family, this will be such a great event to attend.

Come say hi, meet local homeschool resources, and share what your family would love to see at Joyful Noise. 🤍

Picture this— You’re new in town. You don’t know many people, but you know it can’t just be you and your little ones in the house forever.

Leaving the house with kids feels like an event. You’re still figuring out who you are in this season of motherhood. You’re hoping your children will make friends, but if you’re honest… you’re hoping you will, too.

Then someone casually invites you to an evening where women are gathering to try a Pinterest craft you’ve been dying to make.

You don’t have to bring anything.
You don’t have to know anyone.
You just show up—as you are, with your littles.

There are snacks. The kids play. Conversations happen naturally. You laugh, learn from women in different walks of life, create something with your own hands, and leave with a few new friendships you didn’t have when you walked in.

I want this space for our city because I see the need all around us. I’ve heard from many people that it’s quite a BIG dream.

I know.

But I also believe it’s a dream this community deserves.

That’s what my heart aches for.

That’s what Joyful Noise is all about. 🤍

I’ve been in Arizona this past week spending some long-deserved time with my family.

Something has been hitting me while I’ve been here.

We can sit around for hours and just… talk. Stories turn into other stories, which turn into lessons, recipes, and new memories. Somebody remembers something from twenty years ago, someone else jumps in, everybody laughs, and before you know it, the whole evening is gone.

I realized how much I’ve missed that.

Living in Florida means I don’t get to be close to my family like that. I think that’s why I’ve always been drawn to building community. We were never meant to do life alone.

I want Joyful Noise to be the kind of place where people linger. Where you run into someone you know—or someone you don’t know yet—and leave feeling like you’ve made a friend. Where kids grow up seeing the same familiar faces every week, making friendships that last, while parents have people to celebrate with, learn from, and lean on.

Looking back, I think so much of that dream comes from my own childhood.

Thank you, Rita and Joel Lyons, for helping raise us all and for showing us that family isn’t about having it all together. It’s about loving each other loudly and welcoming people into yours.

Thank you for believing in me. For teaching me that it was more than okay to be myself—and that it’s okay to color outside the lines… and to live outside them, too.
