Dear Valued Customers -

Bear with me, this'll just take a second. Most of you have been with us for a while, so you know the menu better than we do. I say that because now DOORDASH....along with AI, has begun creating menu items that don't exist.

I would be willing to bet that 98% of you reading this can tell me, from memory, what comes on a Heavenly Hash. You know this, because you'eve eaten enough of it to keep us in business since Members Only jackets were cool.

(Will someone tell my husband that we don't wear them anymore?)

Anyway, NOW the Artificial Intelligence of Doordash has taken it upon itself to add an egg to the base ingredients of your favorite dish.

We literally have people upset that eggs don't come with it (I know. They're new. That's why I'm here)

The main build of a Heavenly Hash is hashbrowns, cheese, ham, diced tomato's, onion and green pepper with a few jalapeno's to boot.

It's what my Dad came up with 40 something years ago, it hasn't and won't change.

For those of you that got caught up in "The Great Egg Caper of 2025", we apologize, we love you, and we hope you'll join us in passing the buck, and putting the blame on someone else. :)

Seriously though, we are very sorry for the confusion.

Margo and "The Fam".

ALL DAY MONDAY! Dine In and Carry Out only. Tyndall Parkway Location only.

Doordash orders unfortunately won't apply as their program won't let us sync up.

We'll have some deals for you over there too though!

SHARE LIKE THE WIND! :)

It's been a long time since I've said anything here, since we've been dealing with heath issues between my husband and my Mom, moving...just a lot.

But I'm here to clarify something.

ANYONE that's ever owned a business has a ONE POINT OR ANOTHER thought..."You know....why not sell it....move off and retire..."

If you're a business owner, you know the drill. Customers that want to tell you how to run it, crazy employees, pandemics that drive costs up and you're supposed to NOT respond, going months with no return....you get it.

There are 2 people (short of my Husband, and anything he says Coram's, I TOLD him to say :) ) That can speak for me, and that's my trusted friend Debbie, and my Manager Tina.

There are also people that want to be the one that knows something, so they feel like they have to run and tell people what they think they know.....small town life, right?

Remember the game "telephone" when we were kids?

I'm saying all of that to say this. EVERYTHING anywhere is for sale for the right price, I think we can all agree. Short of my grandson, my daughter and my husband (and for the right price you can take HIM...LOL)

To the point, Coram's Steak and Egg is currently NOT for sale. Have I spoken to a Broker? Sure.....why wouldn't I?

Coram's Steak and Egg is the legacy of my Mom and Dad, and I will continue to honor them for as long as I can.

In closing, whoever told you its for sale.....maybe don't have private conversations with them in earshot.....as they may be prone to tell your business. :)

I've learned a lesson here though. When you get in a vulnerable place, and you rely on people to vent to, you find out who your friends are, and who's lives are so substance free, that they have to talk about others to validate themselves in their respective circles, regardless of the truth.

I love you all, and thank you for almost 40 years of love!

Margo

Hey everyone, it's TJ. Some of you know me, some of you only know me as the guy that shows up occasionally to write ridiculous commercials or help wanted ads for the restaurant.

I'm Margo's husband of going on 7 years, and also a proud United States Veteran, having served in the Air Force in the 80's.

Every year around this time our Facebook Feeds fill with comments from veteran friends talking about how a civilian friend put their foot in their mouth by wishing them a Happy Memorial Day.

The sentiment is appreciated, but it's wrong........and it stems from the fact that many Americans who never served in the military actually don't know the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day.

Here's the background--but also, the difference in a single sentence.

Memorial Day honors people who died in our nation's wars; Veterans Day honors all veterans who have ever served in our armed forces.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Veterans Day

Celebrated in November, Veterans Day is a federal holiday that is meant to honor everyone who has served in the United States military.

It doesn't matter if the veteran served in wartime or saw combat.

Anyone who has ever stood somberly, raised his or her right hand, and enlisted in any branch of the U.S. military (while swearing to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic") counts.

The holiday began as a commemoration of the armistice that ended World War I, which is why you'll see that many other nations also celebrate it at the same time--namely the United Kingdom, Canada, and other Commonwealth countries that fought on the Allied side in World War I.

While the U.S. government celebrates Veterans Day as a public holiday, it's treated a bit like a second-tier holiday by many private businesses and employers. In some businesses, employees work on Veterans Day in order to be able to take the Friday after Thanksgiving off.

Also: According to the U.S. government, it's spelled Veterans Day. No apostrophe.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Memorial Day

Celebrated on the last Monday of May, Memorial Day is more somber than Veterans Day: it's to remember of every person who gave his or her life in defense of the nation during its wars.

Memorial Day predates Veterans Day.

It was first celebrated in 1868--called Decoration Day at the time--as a day to celebrate and remember Union soldiers who died during the Civil War.

Some Southern states still celebrate the separate Confederate Memorial Day, which honored soldiers who fought for the South during the Civil War.

By the end of World War II, however, Decoration Day had unofficially been expanded to honor all those who gave their lives in any war. The name of the holiday was officially changed in 1967.
Memorial Day is also usually considered the unofficial beginning of summer.

Personally, I think barbecues, beaches, and ball games are great ways to spend this day.

There is no disrespect from celebrating American life: that is part of why so many veterans are willing to risk life and limb to defend our country.

But still, take a moment at least--if not the whole day--and think about why we celebrate. The reason we are all here is because men and women were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf.

Be safe this day, enjoy it with friends and loved ones -

Also, while it's not Veterans Day Weekend, we WOULD like to show appreciation to ANYONE who ever signed that lifelong check to the United States of America by offering 10% Military discounts for any meal for any Veteran or Active Duty member.

We love you, and thank you for what you do, and what you're willing to do if called upon..

Margo, Debbie, Tina, Angie, Rob, myself and the rest of the Coram's family.

UPDATE:
This was written 6 months ago, has 20 shares and literally thousands of views People still continue to think that they can just bring their little dogs to sit and eat with them.

What's it gonna take to get people to understand that OTHER people don't really care to eat with your dog?
__________________________________________
Dear valued customers.

I need to say something, and I hope you understand where we're coming from with this.

The ADA has very strict and defined rules regarding what is and isn't a service animal. They don't sit in the booth and they don't eat/lick food from the table among other things.

Please, I'm begging you PLEASE do not put our team in the uncomfortable position of asking you to leave because your four legged companion doesn't fit the ADA's version of a Service Animal which by definition is:

(1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability,

(2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform.

This is public notice that as of today they WILL ASK, and if you're pet is just that...your "PET" then you will be denied service.

And keep the card in your pocket. If it's not an actual service dog, it's not coming in. It's like saying you have a scrip for w**d and thinking you get to smoke it at the table.

Don't come show me, Margo, any of the Managers your "Official Card" you got somewhere.....just NO.

The ADA welcomes your calls if you feel you're being unfairly treated regarding bringing your dog into the restaurant to eat off of the table. In fact, according to the person I just spoke with, they would "LOVVVVVE" to speak with you. ;)

LEGITIMATE Service Animals are ALWAYS welcome.

Getting loud and/or boisterous in an effort to "yell down" the Managers or Staff won't work either, and you'll be asked to leave, even it requires intervention from law enforcement.

Everyone on the staff, from Management to Dishwashers now know the rule, have a solid understanding and are empowered to act accordingly.

I'm sorry for how this sounds, but please know that if I didn't anticipate it...lol

I wouldn't say it.

Thank you for understanding.

Hey guys...it's TJ.

The "ad guy", and Margo's hubs.

We desperately want to get 3rd back up and running, along with making some enhancements to 2nd and 1st shift.

This is a real gig, not seasonal and in no danger of shutting down or BEING SHUT down.

If you know a solid grill op or server, please send them our way.

Margo will be interviewing Monday/Tuesday and most of Wednesday...will come home for Thanksgiving and be right back up there.

The help wanted ad was designed to get you to throw it around, and make someone laugh.....we don't get enough of that. But we really DO need you.

You'll be paid well to start, and once we figure out that we all like each other, you'll get some more.

Thanks for all the love on the ad by the way. It makes ME smile to make YOU smile. :)

MASSIVE LIFE CHANGING NEWS SO BIG THAT ONLY FACEBOOK CAN HOLD IT!

THIRD SHIFT IS RETURNING TO CORAM’S in Parker!

Do you hate sunlight? Do you only function well in the overnight dark hours? Have you been alive for 600 years, and nee…….oops.

Wrong post.

DO YOU HAVE what it takes to join the Elite at Coram's Steak and Egg?

THE ORIGINAL. THE MOTHERSHIP.

The place where your parents ate. Maybe your grandparents. Maybe you have no parents, but some really nice old people you know eat here.

Either way. Someone you know loves Heavenly Hash, and if they DON'T...then they probably hate kittens and shimmering mermaids, and you don't NEED that kinda hate in your life.

It's not Healthy.

Come cook with us. If you can't cook, then come serve the cooked food with us.

We're NOW HIRING Cooks and Servers.

You wanna come work with us

Try this experiment. Tell your friends you work for the "Yellow and Black" place....

Then tell them you work for Coram's.

In ONE INSTANCE...they're gonna laugh behind your back. In THE OTHER...they're gonna ask you to get them free Heavenly Hash.
Watch your popularity soar, you'll lose weight, get taller, and Cyndi Lauper will make your plaque psoriasis go away.

Coram's Steak and Egg in Parker is hiring Servers and Cooks IMMEDIATELY to fill in recent openings and openings about to happen!

Basically, the job involves turning up, taking money from people and overall not making them angry...which is something people at the cable company should do...but I digress.

You should have AT LEAST the mental clarity and intellectual collateral to learn how to run a POS.

That stands for Point of Sale, not the first car your parents got you to teach you to be humble, or whatever that life lesson was supposed to be.

I KNOW you can InstaBookTimeTinderGram on your phone....you can handle our Point of Sale just fine.

It's the 21st Century, so we know you're probably gonna have a few tattoos.

As long as they can be somewhat hidden at work, aren't on your forehead, and aren't some messages on your knuckles right before they pass out, you're probably ok.

We also know that people have piercings.

We're not without style and coolness around here. (Remember, we were founded when Parachute pants and Members Only jackets were all the rage…WE KNOW STYLE.)
..but if you look like an open tackle box hit you in face at 85 MPH...this probably isn't the gig for you.

Let's talk about w**d. It's not legal yet, and I GET IT...you got your doctor to give you a scrip.

That's awesome, but if you have to have it in your v**e pen and hit it throughout the day....this probably isn't the gig for you.

If someone on Facebook Legal has made you believe it’s ok to smoke it on the way to work, sharing that glorious “someone ran over a skunk” aroma with surrounding traffic….you get the idea..

We don't care what you do at home, and if you're into higher horsepower stuff.....again...this may not be the gig for you.

It's awesome that you can work 73 shifts back to back....but that's all negated by you flipping out and turning into Mr or Mrs Stabby Pants and killing the cook w/ his spatula.

All that being said....you'll be trained and looked after by Blake, Deonne, Tina, Debbie and Margo, who are wonderful people, as long as you don't get them wet or feed them after midni......

Wait...sorry......TV is on in the other room…

Anyway.....it works like this from here.

Put on your pretty or handsome face, swing by
with a pen and prepared to interview Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday.

Please fill out the application completely and if it's possible one of them will speak to you while you're there.....

Coram's is an awesome place to work, so if you're looking for a challenge (whatever that's supposed to actually MEAN) an enthusiastic self-starter (again..whatever THAT means) can show up on time and like to have a good time at work, we're looking forward to meeting you very soon.

In other news, today I learned that bats always turn left when exiting a cave.... OH!!!

Super important.

Coram's Steak and Egg is a Female Owned and Managed company.

There are literally only two men in the whole of Management, and if it doesn't deal with cooking or marketing.... they just sit in the corner and say yes ma'am a lot...so if you can't take direction from a girl....again...this may not be your gig.

EOE, Veterans and Minorities encouraged to apply.

LAST thing.

Pay will not be discussed in this thread. We were founded in the 1900’s, and still hire that way. (DANG that sounds old). We will interview you THIS MONDAY TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY.

(21,22,23)

Offers will be made, tea will be drunk. Drank? Drunked.

Further inquiries by sending your email to
[email protected]

You're gonna go Google the bat thing, aren't you........

Please do not apply if you:
Oversleep, have no alarm clock, have no car, have court often, have no baby sitter every day, frequently have stomach issues or are frequently "up sick allllll niiiight..", have sickly grandparents that pass away every 3 months, are actually a surgeon that has to be on site if anyone in your circle is sent to the ER, have to give friends rides to work later than we start work, experience flat tires every week, have to hold on to cell phone all day, or become an expert at your job with no need to learn or take advice after the first day.

Must be able to remember to come back to work after lunch.

Should not expect to receive Purple Ribbons or Gold Stars for showing up to work on time.

You'll get your very own Coram's Steak and Egg shirts to wear proudly AND a discount on Heavenly Hash.

Givers. I know. :)

Happy Holidays from your Coram's Steak and Egg Family!

10/05/2022

Hi Coram's Family.

I hope this finds you all well, and ready to get into a Holiday Season with some degree of normalcy.

I'm here today to say thing that will inevitably rub someone the wrong way, and I'm sorry. There is the RIGHT WAY to come at a business if you have a grievance, and there's a wrong way.

People make mistakes. They do it EVERY single day, and it's how you handle that mistake that dictates who you are as a person, and as a business.

Having said that, DO NOT EVER presume to walk into any business and dress down the employees of said business because you have some faded perception of the law, whether it be your "hug dog" that you registered online and bought a vest for online is allowed in a place, or if you feel like someone should be wearing gloves on a cooking line.

I want to be crystal clear that Coram's Steak and Egg....IN PARKER...on TYNDALL PARKWAY has an EXEMPLARY relationship with the Health Department in Panama City.

While we encourage all of our cooks to wear protective gloves, the person on the grill..the "Lead Cook", as recently as our last meeting WITH the Health Department, because of his proximity to a 375 degree flattop is NOT required to wear gloves.

The AUTHOR of this posting even, prefers to wear them when cooking so we're clear but there is no violation.

We would know.

Please, I implore you as professionally and with as much class as I can muster, PLEASE never presume to dress down our cooks, or servers, the dishwasher, the mailman or members of your own party in an effort to get someone to respond and give you free things to shut you up in front of the restaurant.

Please know we've seen THAT hustle time and again too, and your threats to "DESTROY US" on Social Media become a contest to see who can impersonate you the best in the breakroom.

Where there are issues, be an adult and I CAN ASSURE YOU that they will be handled with as much haste as can be mustered.

We love our Coram's Family, valued customers who have let us be successful through Hurricanes and Pandemics...but ALSO those on our payroll and will defend them ferociously, WITHOUT END and without filters if you attack them.

Be blessed -
