Call to action. Schools are in trouble all over the country as the recession looms and gets deeper. This is not a great time for anyone to be laid off and jobs will soon be very hard to find for most people. Please take a moment and sign this petition. It will enable my union to open talks about trying to keep my current school open. Yes, I am self motivated since my job is on the line, but I also feel that there is a process that needs to happen, and that process has not occurred. We were blindsided recently with the announcement that our school was financially insolvent. there was no warning. That is not how business should be done. Maybe on some industries, but schools have a long history of working through steps and processes involving teachers, parents, and administration, along with central office and superintendent. Let’s make sure that these processes happen, and that the people who are displaced or cared for properly. Thank you in advance.
