Okay, maybe ‘king of the town’ is a little dramatic… but if you know my brother Doug Jr., you know I’m not that far off. 😂
If you haven’t been to Rebel Smash in Palmyra, MO yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! 🍔🔥 They’ve just opened at their new location on Hwy 168, and they are absolutely ROCKING it!
We’re talking BBQ, burgers, chicken strips, catfish, ribs and so much more. And let me just say… I LOVE THE CATFISH! 🤤🐟
But honestly, what makes Rebel Smash so special isn’t just the food. It’s the people. The team Doug has built is incredible, and you can feel the heart behind what they’re doing the second you walk through the door.
Doug Jr. has always been the kind of person who works HARD—not just for himself, but for other people and for the community he loves. He has always found ways to give back, help others and make Palmyra a better place. ❤️
I think back to when Doug Jr. had Rebel Pig on Main Street, and even though that chapter came to an end, he didn’t let the dream end with it. Nope. He came back stronger than ever, surrounded by an amazing team, ready to make new memories in a new place. And honestly, I think Hwy 168 was exactly where he was supposed to be.
Watching Rebel Smash grow has been so much fun, and I absolutely LOVE having a front-row seat to it. I can’t wait to see where this thing goes because I know this is only the beginning! 🙌🔥
And then there’s the part that means the most to me.
I remember Doug Jr. and our dad, Doug Sr., talking about wanting this dream to happen. I remember the hopes, the ideas and everything they wanted to build. And now, seeing Doug Jr. actually living that dream is pretty incredible.
Even though our dad isn’t here with us anymore, I truly believe he’s still right there cheering Doug Jr. on. ❤️ I know he would be so incredibly proud of everything Doug has accomplished—and everything he’s still working toward.
And then I have to laugh because HOW DID WE GET HERE?! 😂
I remember this guy when we were kids… sitting in his room, jamming out to Britney Spears, Shania Twain and whatever other random songs he decided were his greatest hits that week, while kicking me and our sister out of his room like he was already the CEO of something. 😂🎶
Fast forward all these years and somehow that annoying kid turned into this amazing man who works his butt off, takes care of people, loves his community and is building something pretty dang special.
So yeah, maybe he really is the king of Palmyra. 👑😂
Doug Jr., I’m proud of you. I’m proud of what you’ve built, proud of the way you show up for people, and so excited to watch what comes next. You deserve every bit of success coming your way. ❤️
