It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude that we announce the permanent closure of French Miso Cafe. Over the years, our restaurant has been more than just a place to enjoy a meal; it has been a community, a family, and a dream realized.

The bento box has a rich history that dates back to the Kamakura period in the 12th century, originating in Japan. Initially, it served as a convenient way for people to carry dried rice, known as hoshi-ii, to work.
This early form of the bento evolved over the centuries, with wooden lacquered boxes becoming popular by the 16th century, used during events like hanami (cherry blossom viewing) and tea parties.
The term “bento” itself comes from the Chinese Song dynasty slang term “biàndāng,” meaning “convenient” or “convenience,” and was adopted into Japanese culture during the 13th century.

Eric is from the south of France and runs the kitchen and menus, Tomoko is from Japan and manages the dining room. The result is an adorable setting where one can enjoy a traditional Japanese and French lunch or dinner at the same table.

We use only fresh ingredients and everything is prepared in the morning.
Please consider making an early reservation if you want to try a specific dish as we may run out of popular dishes later in the day.
