when I rescued garfunkel, it was known to me that he was born with a condition causing his intestines to fall into his chest cavity. at 3 months old he had a surgery that corrected this issue but earlier this month I learned he would need another procedure.

yesterday afternoon he underwent a high risk surgery that his small body couldn’t hold up a fight against. I didn’t want to imagine that the hug I gave him before stepping away from the operating room would have been the last. but life does have a way of presenting you the unimaginable when you’re least prepared.

I decided to close down the espresso cart this weekend and stay at home to rest and spend time at home with simon and honey, my dog.

most who have met me know that I run and operate all of vagabond on my own. this occasionally makes it difficult for me in the way I show up to run things, if I myself am not at capacity to do so.

I held my friend for the last time and I’ll cherish that hug for the rest of my life. I know time is what I need in order to heal from this grief. so for now I’m going to take time to focus on my mental health. espresso cart and coffee drinks will be back soon.
