Our Texas-style Commando Chili is Chef Tommy’s dad’s award-winning 3-meat chili, a family recipe that’s been passed down through generations. It even earned a feature on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives.

Now, Tommy’s son, Rex, is learning how to make it, helping carry on the tradition one pot at a time.

🌟 Employee of the Month 🌟

This month we’re celebrating two team members who truly embody what NEVS Barbecue is all about.

👏 Front of the House: Will

Will started by helping serve sides up front, but he never stopped asking, “What can I do next?” Today, he’s one of our most versatile team members—working catering events, training new staff, helping load the smoker, and jumping in wherever he’s needed. His work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to tackle any task make him an invaluable part of the NEVS family. We’re incredibly grateful to have Will on our team!

🔥 Back of the House: Yesterman

Yesterman joined NEVS as a dishwasher, and through hard work and dedication has worked his way up to becoming one of our pitmasters. From trimming and prepping briskets to tending the smokers and making sure everything is cooked to perfection, he’s a huge part of what happens behind the scenes every day. His commitment and pride in his work don’t go unnoticed, and we’re proud to have him leading the way in the pit.
