Charlie,” as many of his customers affectionately call him, wake up before sunrise for the last ten years without an alarm clock? It is putting a smile on someone’s face as they enjoy his candor and addicting chicken! Burr was born in Georgia and raised in Haines City, Florida. He finished High School in Melbourne, Florida and immediately volunteered for the U.S. Upon his release from the Military
, he landed a job with Harris Corporation where he worked his way up through the ranks to Supervisor of various Departments. At the same time, he enrolled in Brevard Community College completing an AA Degree in Business, which enabled him to open a chain of B & B Beauty Supply Stores; six to be exact, in Melbourne, Cocoa, Daytona, and Ft. He has served the community for over 23 years, creating a name for himself and a strong following. Although very successful with his chain of Beauty Supply Stores, Mr. Charlie could not deny his deepest desire. Following his passion, he transitioned from Beauty Supply to pursuing the dream of Restaurant Business Owner in 2003. Charlie’s Hot Wings became an instant success! It is the chicken that has kept him and his customers ticking. His first location was in Melbourne, Florida. Seven and a half years later, in March of 2011, right in the middle of the Recession, he opened a second business located in Cocoa, Florida. People drive from as far North as Atlanta Georgia, South from West Palm Beach, as well as from Orlando and other surrounding cities. Among those travelers are many college students making weekly stops to enjoy laughs, his secret “signature sauce wings,” and his fries that many prefer to any of the popular fast food chains. Because of this, it was only a matter of time before he brought the chicken to them on the way to taking it statewide! It is more than delightful chicken and fries; as many readily testify to the way they feel after a quick chat with the man who is just as notable for his upbeat spirit and optimism, as he is his wings. It is this combination that motivates Mr. Charlie to get up... and keep on bringing the chicken!
