Last day to place orders is Friday, November 21. Pick up day is Wednesday, November 26, 9a- 11a at Rump's BBQ. If you want something not listed know this menu, just ask! We may be able to do it.

Heaven gained the sweetest angel today. Many of you that were "regulars" have had the joy of meeting my parents. Mom went to be with the Lord at 8:35 this evening. Yes, I made it home from Alaska to say my goodbyes. She knew I was there; she is no longer in pain; I am at peace. I will post the arrangements once they are finalized. Please keep us in your prayers.

I can't let another day pass without paying respect to a dear friend that we lost recently. Doc Langston was a fixture at Rump's. So much so that he had his own special cup with his name on it. Doc always had a smile on his face and a kind word to say. I am a better person because I knew him. Many of us are. Doc was generous with his time, knowledge and money. He bought countless meals for friends, colleagues and some strangers, too. He always took great care of my wait staff. Doc will be deeply missed but never forgotten. He never left the restaurant without giving me a hug and saying "love you, kid". The feeling was mutual. When I told him about our Alaska trip, he was bursting with excitement! He LOVED the idea of us living out a dream together. He gave me the biggest hug and told me how proud he was for us. It was one of the last times I saw him. I will always carry his love with me. His love for people; his love for animals; his love for family; his love for life. Doc Langston was one of a kind, and I was blessed to call him my friend.

A special thank you to Flowers by Pat for the special arrangement. They took an odd request and created a beautiful tribute.

It's been a REALLY busy couple of weeks, but we have officially made it safe and sound to our summer home in Homer, Alaska. We have settled in to our RV, and it's starting to feel like home. Our views are AMAZING! We are so grateful for all of the prayers and well wishes for our travels and adventure. We are so blessed to have this opportunity but could not do this without the support of our friends Richard and Milissa Salmon Kirkpatrick. All of these pictures were taken from our RV spot on their property. Try not to feel sorry for us as we "rough it" this summer 🤣 I'll post more pictures and an update as we get food truck set up. Stay tuned!

I write this post with bittersweet emotions. Many have heard, many have asked and some we have already been able to talk to in person, but to let everyone know of our upcoming changes, here's our plans:

April 12 (this Saturday) is our last day of operation for the foreseeable future. Why? You ask. Because, yes, we are going to Alaska for the summer. We have been working toward this for a few years and began our official Alaska adventure last June when we purchased our mobile kitchen that will allow us to take our Texas BBQ north.

We will be back! We are not "moving" to Alaska (I have heard that a lot). We are just going for the summer. Texas will ALWAYS be home! We are still taking caterings for events after October 1. I have many dates already booked. We will definitely do our Thanksgiving orders as we always have. My cell number will not change, 903-738-8999.

When will we reopen Rump's? I can't answer that because I don't know. We are leaving that decision open for now.

We will be open this weekend, April 11 & 12, 10-8 as usual, so if you want your "fix", you have 1 last shot! We will sell out of some items (we already know!) because of some limited quantities, so if you have a specific favorite, come early before it's gone.

Now for the personal, emotional part ( this is where I get teary eyed)... for 14 years, you all have supported us and watch us grow and make our dreams come true. So many of you have gone from customers, to friends, to family. We would not be where we are or be able to take this next step without the support of each and every one of you. We did not make this decision lightly and hope you will continue to support us emotionally. We ask for continued prayers (we have had so may over the years).

I will post updates of our big adventure, and I will post updates on our plans as we make decisions. So, I will quit rambling and conclude with this: thank you! Thank you for all the years we have had. Come see us this weekend if you can before we leave. It's not goodbye forever! Just a goodbye for now.

We love you all! Look out Alaska. Here we come!
