TRUE STORY 👻

I’ve spent most of my life being the guy who chuckled when people told ghost stories. When we took over this 200+ year-old place and guests, former employees and longtime patrons started telling us about things they had seen or experienced here, I’ll admit it — I thought, “Ohhh okay… gotta keep the stories going.” 😂

Well… I don’t laugh quite as much anymore.

Today was probably one of the strangest days we’ve had yet because THREE different things happened, to three of us, within just a few hours.

Our GM was cleaning the tavern when the TV across the room in the fireplace room started turning itself on and off. The remote is actually Velcroed in place, so nobody was touching it. Every time he would walk over to shut the TV off, it would shut itself off before he got there.

This went on for probably 10–15 minutes.

He had his dog with him, and she was apparently having NONE of it. She was going crazy and trying to hide. 🐾👻

At about the same time, our innkeeper was downstairs doing laundry. She turned around and said there was a VERY tall man standing in the doorway.

She went about what she was doing, came upstairs to work on another room, and when she returned to the basement, the utility tub faucet was running FULL BLAST.

We do not use that sink.

She did not turn it on.

Then apparently whatever was hanging around decided it was my turn. 😂

I had been in and out of the kitchen all morning. We were closed today, the dish area was clean, everything was shut down and nothing had been used since the previous day.

About 40 minutes after I had last walked through, I came back into the dish room and found the water running FULL BLAST and overflowing onto the floor.

I shut the water off and lifted the raised grate over the drain, assuming something had clogged it.

Nope.

A sandwich bag had somehow been placed directly over the drain with a small plastic lid sitting on top of it, completely preventing the water from draining.

We NEVER do that.

In fact, I personally closed the dish area the day before. It was clean, empty and draining perfectly.

Now one strange thing happening? Sure. Electrical glitch. Plumbing issue. Somebody forgot something.

Two strange things? Okay…

But three completely separate events, involving three different people, in different parts of the property, all within a few hours?

I’m running out of explanations. 😂👻

After living here and seeing, hearing and witnessing some of the things that happen inside this old inn, I’m definitely not the skeptic I used to be.

So now I’m curious…

Was there something significant about TODAY?

Was whoever — or whatever — is here just bored?

Do we have a 200-year-old prankster wandering around messing with the staff?

Thankfully, whatever seems to be here has never felt mean or threatening. For the most part, it just seems to like letting us know it’s around…and occasionally making us question our sanity. 😂

So what do you think?

Do we just coexist with our unseen roommates and let them do their thing…

OR is it time to call a priest, paranormal investigator or someone to cleanse the place? 🤔👻

Because I can tell you one thing:

I don’t laugh at everyone’s old stories anymore.

Something is happening inside this place.

And after today, I’m pretty sure it wanted ALL THREE of us to know it. 👻
