🎉 Congratulations to our Healthy Archuleta Youth Interns! Today, they presented their final capstone to the Archuleta County Board of County Commissioners, sharing what they learned, what they see in our community, and their ideas for the future.

We are proud of the leadership, service, and hard work they brought to their internship, and grateful to them for sharing their voices and perspectives with our community leaders. 👏💚

Septembers in the Garden Education Program

September 9, 16, and 23
9:30 AM – 11:00 AM
PLPOA Vista Community Production Garden

Healthy Archuleta’s gardening programs focus on practical, hands-on learning designed specifically for our local high-altitude environment. Participants gain foundational knowledge on crucial gardening mechanics, including: soil health & preparation, how to choose the appropriate plant varieties, when to plant, overcoming the unique challenges of the mountain garden. Beyond the harvest itself, gardening offers profound personal and community benefits.

Whether you are looking to extend your autumn harvest, learn late-season garden maintenance, or prepare your beds for next spring, this three-part series offers ideal hands-on practice in a supportive setting.

These three sessions offer a fantastic opportunity to gather outdoors, learn directly in a community garden space, and share experiences with fellow local growers.

Classes will take place in the garden and attendees are encouraged to dress for the weather, bring water and sun protection. Garden tools and gloves will be available.
