I’m convinced getting rid of VHS was actually a downgrade.

We added VHS into our family 2 years ago and I genuinely don’t know why we ever moved away from it.

No ads. No autoplay. No subscription price going up every few months. No randomly taking away the movie your kids have watched 400 times.

We buy the tape. We own the tape. It stays on our shelf until WE decide we don’t want it anymore.

My kids pick a movie, put it in, and when it’s over… it’s over. Screen time is done and they go play.

And I swear their behavior is sooo much better with VHS. There’s no endless scrolling, no “one more episode” automatically starting, no constantly looking for the next thing to watch.

Plus there’s something so cool about my kids watching the exact same tapes we watched as kids.

The more “old” things we bring back into our home, the more I wonder why we ever got rid of them in the first place.
