Most people only see the finished cup of coffee, but behind every bag we roast and every drink we serve are countless hours of work that happen out of sight.

For the past few weeks, our roaster has been down, and Brad has poured his time, energy, and expertise into getting it back up and running. From troubleshooting and repairs to long days and late nights, he’s tackled every challenge head-on without complaint.

One thing we probably don’t say enough is just how much we appreciate him. Southern Girl Coffee simply wouldn’t be what it is without his dedication, hard work, and willingness to do whatever needs to be done. When things are running smoothly, he’s working behind the scenes. When things break, he’s the one figuring out how to put them back together.

We’re incredibly grateful for all he does, not just for the business, but for our family, our team, and everyone who enjoys a cup of Southern Girl Coffee.

Thank you, Brad. We appreciate you more than words can say.

Happy Father’s Day & Happy First Day of Summer ☀️

Somewhere there’s a dad in a lawn chair, country music playing low, keeping one eye on the grill and the other on the kids jumping off the dock.

And honestly… that’s about as summer as it gets.

Here’s to the dads who taught us how to throw a ball, bait a hook, change a tire, and laugh when things don’t go according to plan.

The ones who worked hard all week so weekends could feel a little like freedom.

So pour an iced coffee, turn up the 90s country, and enjoy the day.

Full circle moments are something special.

When I was in college, I spent countless hours studying, dreaming, and drinking coffee at Angel’s Island. It was one of those places that felt like more than a coffee shop, it felt like community.

Then, about 15 years ago, when I was tossing around the idea of opening a coffee shop of my own, I had the opportunity to sit down with the owner and ask questions about coffee, business, and what it takes to build a place people love. It was just one conversation, but it left an impression.

Today, she walked into the alley.

And for a moment, I felt like I was meeting a celebrity.

It’s funny how life works. Years ago, I was sitting in her coffee shop as a college student, dreaming about owning a place like that someday. Today, she was standing in ours.

Angel’s Island helped show me what a coffee shop could be, a place for connection, conversation, and community. Seeing someone who inspired that journey walk into Southern Girl Coffee today felt a little surreal.

Thank you for taking the time to encourage a young woman with a dream all those years ago. You probably had no idea how much it would mean.
