Y’all may have noticed a couple of new additions to our menu. These deli sandwiches didn’t show up by accident; they’re the result of careful, intentional planning.
Some of you may remember Samy’s Samwich Shop. What you might not know is that my parents are the ones who owned it. Everything I know about the food service industry, I learned from watching them. I spent a lot of afternoons there washing dishes, taking orders, and even helping bake a dessert or two 😉. Many of the desserts we have on the trailer today were once sweet treat staples at Samy’s.
Both in the restaurant and outside of it, food was our family’s love language. It was always about making sure each person felt heard and cared for…one samwich at a time.
So adding samwiches to the menu…? It was never a whim. I always knew I wanted to return my roots, and to love my community, by introducing some savory Samy’s favorites to the menu.
Because that’s what we’re about at The Sweet Spot - making sure folks feel heard, even when they’re just ordering lunch. It’s the mission we’re pursuing and the experience we hope to give each and every person who stops by our trailer.
We’re staring with two savory samwiches now, but will be rolling out more pretty soon. So stay tuned!
So, with all this, perhaps we need to adjust our name. The Sweet (& Savory) Spot, maybe? 🤔
