Thank you, Kenny Garrett, President of Tri-State Dining, for dining with us tonight!
"Tonight for dinner, we stopped by Chef's Kitchen and Pizza Buffet just off Frederica at 636 Southtown Blvd in Owensboro. I had heard from several people about the place. It’s not just a Pizzeria. That’s just one part.
They have a long buffet line with an excellent salad bar along with freshly made thin pizzas. The “Chef” will even make your favorite, just ask him. He says the pizza bar is a big hit with the kids. If excellent comfort food is what you like, on the other end of the bar, along with fresh made desserts, is the Chef’s version of granny’s green beans, carrot, mashed potatoes, buttered corn, fried fish fillets, meatloaf, lemon chicken and pork loin in a rich brown gravy. The meatloaf was dense and very flavorful. Some of the best I’ve had in a restaurant environment. The corn tasted just like that at a family reunion. All the meats were elevated as well.
The service was excellent too. They kept our drinks topped off and asked us numerous times if we needed anything and if we were satisfied. All for $9.99 each.
Most nights, they keep the meatloaf and fish on the buffet, but other items can change on a nightly basis. On Fridays they have Prime Rib. I understand the Chef is adding Steaks to order in the near future. Gotta go back for that too.
The Chef also told us about several other restaurants that his “Boys” run. So we’ll have to add Brick House Pizza, The Local Kitchen & Bar, City Walk Cafe and Grill and others to our restaurant bucket list.
So, if you’re down for some great scratch made comfort food, and pizza for the kiddos, this is definitely worth checking out."
