Five months since diagnosis of stage 4 lymphoma that had metastasized to his lungs, liver and stomach, and today marks the LAST chemo treatment for VenuWorks of Oshkosh/Oshkosh Arena Executive Director Andy Linton!
It's been quite the journey for him, his wife Tracy, their kids and extended family, and all of us at the arena. We've felt all the emotions related to being close to someone you care about who's battling cancer. Critical to his care was everyone's commitment to stepping forward to support Andy in any way we could.
In mid-August, halfway through Andy's treatment course, his PET scan showed the exciting news that he was 90% cancer-free. This news, on the heels of a successful cancer benefit in which YOU - this community - generously stepped up to help us raise more than $25,000 to assist in covering medical expenses, was an incredible relief.
At that moment, Andy and his oncology team opted to stay the course and finish the last three treatments - bringing us to TODAY!
THANK YOU to everyone who's been a part of Andy's cancer battle. He's humbled, grateful and so happy that today is one of celebration for all! š
