In case you weren't aware, GG has a very talented artist in-house! Barista Brenna Houdersheldt was a UNL art major and currently makes all of our menu boards for us (which barely scratches the surface of her talents!).

Most recently Brenna has been selling her own line of hand drawn greeting cards at the coffee shop. What some of you may not have realized is that EACH card is HAND DRAWN by Brenna! (no computer printing, no sketch and copy, no mass production)... EACH card is created and hand drawn by Brenna so not only are you getting an amazing greeting card (at an amazing price!) but each card is truly a work of art! So stop in soon and take a look at "Cards by Brenna" (and maybe pick up one or two or several!) :)

Oh, and she also takes custom orders (and the holidays are coming!) :)

Wow! There is a lot going on in and around Osceola this weekend! We've got the Osceola garage sales with 22+ stops around town... plus the 6th annual "Bargains for you on 92" (which includes Osceola)... AND...

Gathering Grounds Coffee House will be hosting a pop-up event on Saturday morning featuring Avelynn Slyter and her amazing gourmet cookies! Avelynn fell in love with baking at an early age and has already enjoyed success at several farmer's markets. Her cookie offerings may vary but here are a few sample pictures of past goodies!

So as you prepare to head out to shop all the bargains and sales don't forget to swing by the coffee shop for a drink to fuel you on your way, (and stop in to meet Avelynn on Saturday!) :)

PLEASE NOTE.... Gathering Grounds will be closing at 4:00 p.m. this Thursday, August 13th. We're going to enjoy a little dinner out for the staff. Normal hours resume on Friday. Thanks for your understanding! :)

So... I don't think I was as clear as I should've been regarding the information I was wanting when I made my original post... I am hoping to (1) find out who dropped off the blanket at the coffee shop? and (2) find out what their intentions were? Donation to GG? Have us hold it for someone else?

A young girl (10-ish years old) brought this blanket into the coffee shop last week but, unfortunately, the barista on staff didn't catch her name and wasn't clear on why the blanket was brought to GG...?

If the owner of this Osceola blanket could message me with details that would be awesome!

Mark your calendars for tomorrow morning, (July 15th)! State Senator Jana Hughes will be at GG from 9:00-10:30 to engage in conversation, answer any questions people might have, and to enjoy a great cup of coffee! :)

As Polk County (Nebraska) residents know, our county fair takes place this week (July 8th thru 12th). On Saturday afternoon, the 11th, there will be a parade downtown (starting at 3:00).

Unfortunately Gathering Grounds Coffee will NOT be open during the parade. We have a private event scheduled that afternoon and only guests for that event will have access to the coffee shop.

As some of you already know, GG is blessed to have an amazing artist working for us! Brenna has worked at the coffee shop for 4+ years as barista, as the creator of many of our menu "specials", and as the creative talent who has won the Homecoming window decorating contest for GG not once, but twice!

Brenna is an amazing barista and also an incredibly gifted artist!

Her latest contribution to the coffee shop (and to showcase her artistry) are hand-made, hand-drawn greeting cards! Brenna's cards are on sale now for $5 each or $18 for 4 cards. Each card is truly one-of-a-kind so the next time you're at Gathering Grounds, take a few minutes to check out "Cards by Brenna"! :)

Sorry for the late notice but Gathering Grounds Coffee House will be closing at 4:00 on Friday, July 3rd.

This change is in addition to our hours on the 4th being open from 7:00 - 11:00.
