Wow, what a day! ☀️🍦🍔
We want to send a massive THANK YOU to everyone who came out to Dairy Queen to cool off during today's unexpected 89-degree October heatwave! You certainly kept our blenders blending and grills grilling from open to close!
Because so many of you had the same delicious idea, our lines were a bit longer than usual. We want to extend an extra special thank you for your incredible patience if your wait time was longer than normal, and for being so kind and understanding with our staff members, some of them new, who were handling their very first major rush.
Our team worked their tails off today, and your smiles and patience made all the hard work worth it. We are so lucky to have the best patrons in town!
We can't wait to serve you your next favorite treat or burger again soon! 🍦❤️🍔

There is something to be said about living in a small town. When someone is in need, they show up. That is what happened last night. Thank you to all who attended the benefit last evening. Whether it was having a meal, some cool treat or leaving cash in the bucket, it will help lighten the burden of medical bills for Corin and family.

If you were unable to attend and would still like to help, we will leave the donation bucket up through the weekend.

Again, thank you for showing up.

🧹💚 WE HAVE A WINNER! 💚🧹

We recently welcomed a new mop to the team, and we thought it deserved a name worthy of its important job! 😆 So, we turned it into a little naming contest and let our staff submit their best ideas. After some serious voting, we have officially chosen a name!

🎉 Meet the GRIME REAPER! 🎉

So, if you see the green machine making its way through the lobby, you’ll know exactly who it is! 💚🧹

A big congratulations to James, whose winning name Grime Reaper took the top spot! 👏

And because every champion deserves a prize, James went home with a gift card AND some fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies! 🍪🎁

Thanks to everyone who submitted a name and got in on the fun! We may have the cleanest lobby AND the coolest mop around! 😂💚

Long live the Grime Reaper! 🧹💀

Yesterday we had the pleasure of meeting Juan Flores from Texas. He was in Willmar MN visiting family and drove specifically here, to Ortonville DQ to have ice cream and check out the area. He shared with us that in the late 60's he was employed at the Big Stone Canning Company and would come here often for ice cream. He thought it was a Dairy Queen back then. We had a great conversation talking about how things have changed. Thanks for stopping Juan.
Any local historians have any knowledge of what this establishment was before Mr Buds? Judy Beckman?
