A little look at what’s on the table at Cashtown this week.

Our Port W**e Demi-Glaze Sirloin is one of Chef’s weekly specials, served with a blue cheese crust, truffle mashed potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts.

And if you’re in the mood for one of our everyday favorites, the salmon is always a great choice.

Wishing Andy a Happy Birthday today!

Andy is one of those people who’s always willing to pitch in wherever he’s needed around the Inn and beyond. Whether he’s helping cook breakfast, cleaning rooms, taking care of some maintenance, or making deliveries to our friends at LeeBell’s Mercantile, he’s always willing to lend a hand. We sure appreciate having someone who’s willing to jump in and help keep things rolling.

Happy Birthday, Andy! We hope you have a wonderful day and a fantastic year ahead!

This week at Cashtown feels a little more like fall.

This weeks specials include Roasted Pumpkin Soup, Crispy Goat Cheese Croquettes, Autumn Pear & Goat Cheese Salad, and a Port W**e Demi-Glaze Sirloin with truffle mashed potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts.

Did you know the name Cashtown has a story behind it?

Years ago, this little crossroads was already a busy stop for travelers. One of the early tavern keepers, Peter Marck, was known for insisting on cash payment for goods and tolls.

Before long, people started referring to the area as Cashtown.

And the name stuck.

It’s a simple little piece of history, but one that feels pretty fitting for a place that has seen so many travelers come through over the years.

Did you know Room 3 is one of the rooms guests ask about most at Cashtown Inn?

Known as the General A.P. Hill Room, it’s one of the Inn’s original guest rooms and dates back to the days when Cashtown was a stagecoach stop.

Look closely at the walls and you’ll still find original dated signatures and markings left behind by travelers and stagecoach operators from the 1800s.

During the Gettysburg Campaign, General A.P. Hill made the Inn his headquarters, adding another layer to the history tied to this room.

And yes… that writing on the wall is real.

Room 3 remains one of those spaces that makes staying at Cashtown feel a little different from anywhere else.

A little look at what’s coming out of the kitchen this week at Cashtown.

Grilled Sirloin Steak with bourbon demi-glaze and Parmesan truffle fries, Duck Breast Crostini, Baby Arugula & Pear Salad, and Cheddar Bacon Onion Apple Soup are all on this week’s specials menu.

A little behind-the-scenes from Cashtown this week.

Jeremy and the kids have been busy working on something they’ve wanted to add for a while….a horse paddock for guests traveling with their horses.

With reenactors and other guests often coming through the area with horses in tow, the goal is to make staying at the Inn a little easier and a lot more convenient without having to arrange boarding somewhere else.

It’s just one more way Danielle and Jeremy are always thinking about the guest experience and how to make a stay at Cashtown feel a little more like home.

We can’t wait to see this one finished.
