THE SAMPLE IS THE VULNERABLE PART. 🥒

At every market, I hand people a sample and watch their face.

There’s nowhere to hide in that moment. 😂 They either love it… or they don’t.

And I realized that’s a lot like sharing my story.

Every time I talk about sobriety, rebuilding or where this business came from, I’m handing someone a little piece of something personal and letting them decide what it means to them.

That takes vulnerability.

But the beautiful part is getting to see the reaction in real time.

Sometimes it’s, “Damn, that pickle is GOOD.”
Sometimes it’s someone telling me they’re sober too.
Sometimes it’s someone sharing a story about someone they love.
And sometimes they just grab another sample. 😂🥒

Either way, connection happens.

Maybe that’s what farmers markets have taught me most.

Don’t be afraid to let people taste what you’ve created—or see who you really are.

Next weekend we’re doing it all over again at Sanford Marketplace at Magnolia on Sept 26 9-1pm and Conway Community Market on Sept 27 10-2pm.

I stand underneath a tent covered in something I created, surrounded by products I made, wearing a brand that came from one of the hardest chapters of my life.

It’s funny how life works.

I thought getting sober meant giving something up. Turns out, I was making room.

Room for purpose.
Room for ambition.
Room for a business.
Room for a version of myself I hadn’t met yet.

People might see a pickle stand.

I see proof that your past doesn’t get the final say.

And damn… I’m proud of what I’m building 🥒🥒🥒

BEHIND THE SCENES IS CALLED BEHIND THE SCENES FOR A REASON.

People see the markets. They see the sold-out weekends. They see the posts, the products, the growth.

What they don’t always see is everything it takes to make those things happen.

The prepping. The packing. The ordering. The emails. The wholesale accounts. The deliveries. The markets. The setup. The breakdown. The problem solving. The planning. And the hundred little things that have to happen before anyone ever sees the finished product.

Owning a business isn’t a 9–5. There’s no clocking out just because you answer to yourself. And there’s a whole lot of work happening when nobody is watching.

I’ve learned that some of the hardest work you’ll ever do will be the work nobody applauds — because nobody even knows you’re doing it.

And that’s okay.

Behind the scenes might be invisible.
But eventually, the results won’t be. 💚🥒
