Storybook Delights Every pastry has a story, let me tell yours! A party without a cake is just a meeting. Let me create Storybook Delights is a local Orlando cottage bakery.

That delivers to the surrounding Orlando area. We also have a shipping option available. Our main goal is to create anything that a person can think up. We love to push the envelope on every creation and make flavors as well as decorations pop. There are a few specialty flavor cakes that were inspired by popular candy bars as well as traditional cakes. So if you have any questions please feel free

to contact us. We strive to make sure we deliver the best product possible. We do not have a physical location for a bakery currently, but dreams of having one in the future. Any special dietary desserts can be arranged. All the items I create are on shared equipment and no matter how well I keep them I cannot promise no cross contamination. I know life has felt a little heavy at times lately, and it hasn't always been the easiest season for people to agree on things.

But holidays like today remind me that there are still so many moments that bring us together.

Whether you're gathered around a grill, watching fireworks, spending time by the pool, or simply sharing a meal with the people you love, I hope today is filled with laughter, good food, and memories that matter.

As someone who's built a business around helping people celebrate life's milestones, I've learned that some of the best moments happen around a table—where birthdays are celebrated, stories are shared, traditions are made, and for just a little while, everything else can wait.

Whatever today looks like for you, I hope it's filled with kindness, gratitude, and time spent with the people who matter most.

✨ Thank You For Following Me Friday ✨

Looking back at old photos always reminds me how funny life can be.

When this picture was taken, I was a pastry chef at Disney, spending my days creating desserts and helping bring a little magic to guests from around the world.

If you had told me then that one day I'd own my own bakery, be shipping treats across the country, creating monthly menus, testing savory recipes, and restocking my own space at The Makers Market & Farmacy... I probably wouldn't have believed you.

The path certainly hasn't been what I expected, but I wouldn't change it.

One of the biggest lessons I've learned is that it's okay for your dreams to evolve. Sometimes the plan changes, and sometimes those unexpected turns lead to opportunities you never knew you needed.

Lately, The Makers Market & Farmacy has been exactly that for me. It's reignited my creativity and challenged me to try new ideas while still doing what I love most—creating desserts that become part of someone's story.

So today I'm just feeling grateful.

Grateful for where this journey started...
Grateful for where it has taken me...
And grateful for everyone who's supported Storybook Delights along the way.

🎄 Well... Christmas in July is going to have to wait just a little longer. 🥵

Today's plan was to launch my Christmas in July menu, finish updating my website, and get everything ready for all of you.

Instead...

My air conditioner decided today was the perfect day to stop working. 😅

If you've ever spent a summer in Florida, you know that trying to sit at a computer, think creatively, build menus, and troubleshoot a website when it feels like you're slowly melting isn't exactly productive.

So today has turned into hoping for a quick A/C fix instead of a Christmas in July launch.

The good news? The menu is almost ready, and as soon as I can think without feeling like I'm baking right along with the cookies, it'll be live!

One of my goals when I joinedThe Makers Market & Farmacy was to keep my shelf changing with the seasons instead of looking the same month after month.

Beginning the week of July 6, I'll officially be launching my first themed monthly menu:

☀️ The Summer Picnic Menu ☀️

You'll find returning favorites, new sweet treats, savory snacks, rotating cookie flavors, featured brownies, and even a few Test Kitchen items making appearances throughout the month.

The best part? Most of the items featured on the Summer Picnic menu will also be available to order through Storybook Delights for shipping, local delivery, and meetups—so even if you aren't local to Lakeland, you can still enjoy this month's lineup!

This week's lighter restock is just to get us through the shortened holiday week, but next week the Summer Picnic menu officially takes over.

🍞 It's Funny How Businesses Evolve 🍞

If you had told me a year ago that I'd be spending my week testing focaccia, homemade Cheez-Its, garlic rolls, and dry dip mixes... I probably would've laughed.

Storybook Delights started with cakes and desserts, and those will always be at the heart of what I do.

But one of the unexpected gifts of having my space at The Makers Market & Farmacy has been the opportunity to step outside my comfort zone and create products I never imagined making.

Some ideas work.

Some need a little more tweaking.

Some never make it past the recipe notebook.

But every now and then, something surprises me.

This focaccia is one of those recipes. It's still a work in progress, but I'm really excited about where it's headed.

**Hint...** 👀

If all goes well, there *may* be a couple of loaves making a test appearance at The Makers Market & Farmacy this week.

No promises... but I couldn't resist letting a few of you be taste testers. 😄

I know... it's not even July yet.

But if you work in baking, retail, or own a small business, you know we don't get to live in the current season. We're usually planning the next one... or the one after that. 😆

So while everyone else is thinking about beach days and fireworks, I'm over here bouncing between Christmas cookies and Halloween treats.

Please tell me I'm not the only one whose brain works like this. 😂

Between planning July menus, Christmas in July, recipe testing, shipping, custom orders, and trying to remember what day it is, I think it wandered off. 😆

Thankfully, one thing I've learned about owning a small business is that motivation comes and goes... but showing up anyway is what keeps things moving.

🎄 Well... I Think I've Done It Again. 🎄

What started as a simple idea for Christmas in July has somehow turned into an entire menu. 😆

I sat down thinking I'd put together a few fun holiday treats for shipping and call it a day.

Instead, I've spent the past few weeks making notes, tweaking ideas, testing flavors, and talking myself both into and out of various menu items.

At this point, I think I'm finally down to the final details.

The best part?

This year's Christmas in July event is being designed specifically for shipping, which means some things may make an appearance that don't normally fit into my regular lineup.

Now I just have to stop changing my mind long enough to finish it. 🤣

And for those of you who've been around for a while... you may be happy to hear that the BOGO Box Sale will be making a return as well. 👀📦

Fun fact...

For my birthday every year, I request the exact same cake.

Not a custom cake.

Not one of my own recipes.

Not some elaborate bakery creation.

A very specific ice cream cake from Cold Stone. 😆

Every year. Without fail.

It's cheesecake-flavored ice cream with graham cracker and strawberry mix-ins layered with vanilla cake, and at this point it's basically become a birthday tradition.

And before anyone asks...

No, I don't share. 🤣

I cut it into individual slices, wrap them up, and stash them in the freezer so I can enjoy it long after my birthday is over.

You'd think someone who spends as much time around desserts as I do would want to try something different every year, but once I find something I love, I'm sticking with it.

So now I have to know...

One thing I've learned while adding new products and talking to customers is that people call the same thing completely different names depending on where they grew up. 😆

For example:

🍫 7 Layer Bars or Magic Cookie Bars?

🍪 Puppy Chow or Muddy Buddies?

🥖 Hoagie, Sub, or Grinder?

🥤 Soda, Pop, or Coke?

Every time I think I know what something is called, somebody introduces me to another name I've never heard before.

🎂 One of the Perks of Custom Cakes 🎂

One of the things I love most about custom cakes is that they give me the opportunity to experiment with flavors and filling combinations that I might not have thought to try otherwise.

This particular cake was created for a friend, and while the outside was beautiful, it was the inside that had me excited. 😊

The cake featured two fillings: a cheesecake filling and a tiramisu-inspired filling made with mascarpone, whipped cream, and a touch of coffee. Since the cake itself was vanilla, I skipped the traditional ladyfingers and focused on the flavors that make tiramisu one of my favorite desserts.

And honestly?

It may have earned a permanent spot in my recipe book. 😆

Unfortunately, these are fillings I can't currently offer for general sale, which is one of the reasons I love opportunities like this. Creating custom cakes for friends allows me to test new ideas, experiment with flavors, and see what works beyond my usual lineup.

One thing people don't always realize is that I keep notes on recipes, fillings, frostings, and flavor combinations all the time. Some ideas get revisited years later, some inspire completely different desserts, and some eventually become customer favorites.

And yes... this one definitely made it into the recipe book for the possibility of a future location someday.

Or heck, maybe even a Storybook Delights recipe book. 😆

That's one of the fun parts of being a baker—there's always another flavor combination waiting to be tested.

So now I'm curious...

I promise I haven't forgotten about the 21K giveaway. 😆

Between family, markets, launching my space at The Makers Market & Farmacy, shipping, and all the other adventures that have been happening lately, it ended up getting pushed further down my to-do list than I originally planned.

The winners have not been officially selected yet, but it is still happening!

🤦‍♀️ Well... Wednesday kind of got away from me!

I had every intention of making a restock post, but somehow the day disappeared. 😆

The good news is that my space at Makers Market & Farmacy has been restocked!

The even better news? Apparently I can't count. 🤣

I ended up with an overstock of brownies after this past weekend's market, so as a little thank you for an incredible first 3 WEEKS at The Makers Market & Farmacy, all brownies are currently *just $3 each!*

This sale is only while my market overstock lasts, so once they're gone, they're gone!

And with July just around the corner... who knows what will be making its way onto the shelf next? 👀 I've been busy working on a new menu, and I can't wait to share what's coming.

If you've sent me a message recently and haven't received an immediate response, please know I'm not ignoring you. 😊

Life looks a little different these days than it did when I first started Storybook Delights. Between family, markets, shipping, custom orders, my space at The Makers Market & Farmacy, and the general chaos that comes with raising little humans (plus summer somehow making everything even busier), my response times are sometimes a bit longer than they used to be.

The kiddos are still in camps and daycare, but somehow summer always seems to bring its own special brand of chaos. 😆

I do answer messages, but it may take me a little longer than in years past.

Because of that, last-minute orders are becoming more difficult to accommodate. I'll always do my best, but the more notice you can give me, the better chance I have of making the magic happen.

🎉 A Small Milestone 🎉

This weekend, I officially sold my 200th item from my space at The Makers Market & Farmacy.

When I first brought Storybook Delights into the Farmacy, I honestly had no idea what to expect. It was a completely different side of the business and a chance to test products in a way I'd never done before.

A little over two weeks later, we've crossed the 200-item mark.

Some products have been instant hits. Some have surprised me. Some have taught me valuable lessons. And some have reminded me that customers will always keep me guessing. 😆

To everyone who has stopped by, picked up a treat, tried a new product, shared a post, or supported my little shelf space—thank you.

Now let's see what the next 200 items bring. ❤️
