As 2022 and this chapter of my life comes to a close, I’ve had time to reflect. Opening and operating a small business has been the most challenging task of my career thus far. I became the marketer, manager, client relationship coordinator and accountant in addition to baking what seemed like 24/7 for almost 4 years. It became a lot to handle, but brought me so many great things along the way.
Getting to be part of a child’s birthday for consecutive years, helping a couple celebrate their 80th wedding anniversary and 80+ couples plan their perfect wedding desserts - there was no shortage of special occasions to celebrate! Candlelight Walk proved to be one of my busiest days each year and always put me into the Christmas spirit. But my favorite part of all of the long hours and weeks, turned out to be the people I met along the way.
Closing for me isn’t a failure, but a necessary change for me moving forward in life. Someday I hope to get back to taking sugar cookies orders here and there. You all will be the first to know when I’m ready to do that!
Thank you all for supporting my small business and making it a rewarding and accomplishing experience! There wouldn’t have been an O’s without you.
For now, the next chapter begins and focuses on my husband and I preparing for our baby boy due in May 💙
