Introducing to you this week our off shoot project, Cafe Andorinha. What is an-do-reen-ya? Its portugeese for swallow. The swallow is a beloved cultural symbol of love, loyalty, and home, often depicted in ceramic art.

When traveling in Portugal we found deep taste bud love for these world famous custard tarts, and the vibe of a Pasteleria that just warms the soul. Simply put, pasteis de nata (plural) is a buttery layered crispy shell filled with a delicate custard center. Cooked at blazing hot temperatures, you will notice slightly burnt edges, and blistered tops. We plan to pop up and offer these at many markets all year round so be sure to keep tabs on our posts! First pop up is this Friday at the Buffalo Holiday Market. Obrigado!!
