Warriors of the Santa Anas

Warriors of the Santa Anas The Warriors of the Santa Anas are dedicated to maintaining and improving the trails in the Cleveland National Forest.

Our club is based on the American Indian Traditions of the Warrior's Society. The Warrior's Society is made up of wilderness cyclists, trail runners and hikers who have dedicated themselves to improving and protecting the trails of the Trabuco District of the Cleveland National Forest in Orange County California. They must also share our love of the land and the endurance to ride or hike it. Membe

rs must be nominated and voted in by existing members. The US Forest Service honored us with the 2002 trail advocate award for region 5, which includes the state California. We are also closely monitoring the push to designate new wilderness areas in California and around our nation. It is our belief that another designation is needed that would protect our forests as well as our freedom to responsibly enjoy them. The Back Country Designation is one proposed alternative. Newsletter is going out tomorrow morning. If you're not on it, get on it!

In this newsletter, we celebrate a successful Maple Springs cleanup, talk about an important issue affecting our roadless backcountry, and offer a one-time print run of our updated CNF trail map. Read more here:

I am going to do a single run of printing this map. Local pick-up only. The cost is $60.00. All proceeds are going directly to the Warriors of the Santa Anas 501(c)(3) to support our charitable work in the Santa Anas.

Local pick-up only: I’ll meet you at a group ride, e.g. Wednesday 6pm at Selmas Ladera Ranch, Thursday 6pm at the Luge or any day of the week at Santiago Oaks or Blackstar. We’ll figure it out.

I will be placing the print order on Friday, August 28. I will get these to you in September.

You can download the original version here for free: https://www.warriorsofsantaanas.org/cnf-map

You can get a digital copy of the latest, improved version for $10 at the same link. The improved version has three additional trails, federal land-ownership shading and other improvements.

If you want a printed version make your donation by Friday. I’ll be doing this just once.

No state park or federal employee is paid to maintain our state park or national forest trails. If you want good, maintained trails, you gotta do it yourself. Got involved with one of the groups maintaining the trails you use.
