As we approach our last day of owning the diner (Wednesday 10/23), we would like to take a moment to express some words of gratitude.
First, to you our customers. Without your support this diner would have gone away long ago. You supported us as “outsiders” as we came in to make changes and asked you to trust us, and you did. Together we were able to enjoy many years and fun festivals, such as the Pumpkin festival and Return to Hogwarts. We were honored to collaborate with other businesses in the area, and even to be involved with events like the River Rat and the Solstice Riverfest. We hope that many of these things continue for years to come.
Next and most importantly, we’d like to thank our staff (past and present), which have become more like family. You have rallied together when things were at its worst (Covid!!!), you’ve helped us above and beyond, and helped each other as well. You truly know what team work means. This job is exhausting, fun and messy, but you have kept a smile and positive outlook through it all. And we know that the best thing that this diner has is all of you! Even though we are leaving, you will remain, and that will make all the difference.
The diner has been here for 66 years, and it was our honor to be a small part of that. We are eager to start our next adventure, and if you ever find yourself on the Gulf Coast of Florida, look up The Lazy Dazy in the Historic District of Ft Myers and come say hello.
Until then, God bless and take care!
