Before the race started, a 96-year-old man lined up to walk a 5K.
Not because it was easy.
Not because anyone expected him to.
But because he could.
As runners gathered under the bridge and the sun began to rise, one thought kept coming to mind:
The people who inspire us most are rarely the fastest.
They’re the ones who keep showing up.
One more year.
One more mile.
One more act of faithfulness.
Today’s race, hosted by to support women finding hope, healing, and restoration after some of life’s darkest circumstances, felt like a reminder of that truth. Thank you for having us and allowing us to be a small part of a morning centered on hope, perseverance, and restoration.
Hope isn’t built all at once.
It’s built one step, one conversation, and one act of faithfulness at a time.
“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus.” — Hebrews 12:1-2
