Mackey's Munchies

Just like a good w**e he has only got better with time. Chef Mackey started his career in the United States Navy as a cook on various ships, were he had opportunity to try and learn different types of foods and cooking techniques from around the world. Chef Mackey received his degree from The Art Institute of Colorado in 2001. Other certification include Restaurant Sanitation, Hospitality Management, and a current Serve Safe Certificate for the state of Florida. However he credits his mother and home town of Port Sulphur, Louisiana to his passion and love of food. Chef Mackey and his wife Brandye Mackey opened Mackey's Munchies in 2002 in Denver, Colorado. Chef Mackey gained experience from other employers while running his business. He worked as the Executive Chef at Heritage House not just feeding but cooking lavish meals for displaced families. Food Service Coordinator for University Hospital, gaining nutritional and dietary experience. Correction Support Instructor, at a State Department Juvenile Facility, teaching young men a new trade. Most recently Eurest Dining in Florida as the Executive Chef.. Chef Brian and Brandye Mackey moved to Fleming Island Plantation , early 2009 with their two sons. The Mackey family have become a positive addition to the community. Participating in Fleming Island events and coordinating meet the board picnics for Lake Ridge North residents. The Mackey's relaunched Mackey's Munchies in mid 2009. They have received lots of positive feed back and receive many request for some of there specialists such as Gumbo, Sticky Icky BBQ Sauce, Peach Mango Ribs and Chicken, Fried and Smoked Turkey just to name a few.
