So…What is a Coffee Crawl??

Here are a few frequently asked questions about the Over the River Coffee Crawl, TOMORROW!!

*Where do we start??
Any of the shops on the route! Find the link to the google map on our page or a link to each of the shops in the Facebook event! Every shop has free buttons for participants so grab one at your first stop so we know you’re participating!
*Do we have to register??
This is a free event and you don’t have to register! Your only cost is what you purchase at the shops you visit. The shops all have samples for you as well:) The only thing that requires a purchase is entering the drawing at each shop. You can enter to win the prize basket, with any purchase, at each individual shop.
*How long will this take??
The route itself is 3 hours! It really depends how much time you want to hang out in each community:) Don’t forget to take a look around these great little towns! There are lots of shopping opportunities you don’t want to miss!
*What hours are the shops open??
Everyone is open 8 AM-2 PM tomorrow for sure. Some shops will have extended hours:)
*Where can we get the Coffee Crawl merchandise??
2025 Coffee Crawl shirts are available at Downtown Coffee & Cream in Onawa! We have a limited supply so make sure to stop in if you have to have a souvenir!

Our next new shop on the route is Cool Beans in Decatur, Nebraska! We love the hometown feel of this shop:) They have homecooked food and delicious coffee ready for you to keep you fueled up for the drive! They also are preparing delicious snacks for you to sample so don’t miss this stop for sure! Decatur is the only stop right along the Missouri River so make sure you enjoy the scenery as you cross over the bridge from either direction! The scenery on this drive is really part of all the fun! You don’t want to miss it!!🍂

We are so excited for you to visit Dillstrom's Fika Kafe in Oakland, Nebraska! This beautifully designed shop in the adorable town of Oakland is such a treat:) They have an array of coffee and pastries that compliment the Swedish ancestry of their town. We know you will love the atmosphere here! Make sure to make this new stop on the route!!

Graceful Grind Coffeehouse is back on the route this year! We were so excited to see their new seating area and of course all the new items in their beautiful boutique! You can walk out of here with a delicious coffee and a new outfit!! Such a friendly staff and all the small town charm:) We are excited for you to travel through the beautiful Loess Hills to enjoy this treasure in Mapleton, Iowa!!

Here it is folks! The official map for this years Coffee Crawl!! This is a self guided tour so you can start at any of the locations!

*Every shop participating in the Crawl will have a free button for you to get at your first stop.
*If you are wearing your button you can get any samples or specials at the shops on the route!
*Each shop will have their own prize drawing for you to enter when you purchase anything at their shop!
*Official 2025 Over the River Coffee Crawl merchandise will be available at Downtown Coffee & Cream in Onawa, Iowa. The shirts are limited so come early to get yours!!

Uncommon Grounds in Sloan, IA is our next spotlight for this year’s Coffee Crawl!! If you love coffee, delicious food, antiques, and gifts you will LOVE this shop!! The owners and their staff love their community and have put so much love and detail into this hometown favorite! We can’t wait for you to check it out!!

Sips N Co in Lyons, NE is our next spotlight on the Coffee Crawl! These ladies have so much heart for their shop and their community! We loved stopping in to visit with them and hearing how much love they put into this business. They have all kinds of local goods to shop for while you are there, delicious home cooked lunch specials, and of course a wide variety of coffee and espresso drinks!! We can’t wait for you to meet them and enjoy their cozy shop!:)

Back to the Iowa side of the route today! Hawks Coffee Shop in Sgt Bluff, IA is a hometown favorite! They have a variety of food items and of course a full coffeee bar:) They love their local community and are always looking for ways to be involved. They have a huge meeting space for community members to gather and host events. You can even find a cute gift or something for yourself! We’ve loved having them on the Coffee Crawl since the beginning:) Make sure you check them out!!❤️☕️

We’re heading over the river to the Nebraska side of our route for our next spotlight of the Coffee Crawl! Master’s Hand in Tekamah, Nebraska is a beloved destination featuring a full coffee bar when you walk inside and The World’s Best Cinnamon Rolls to go with your coffee!! They have an adorable gift shop and amazing food! They will be offering soup flights the day of the crawl and will have 12 different soups to choose from! What a cozy way to enjoy this stop on your favorite fall road trip!

Hey Coffee Crawlers! We are kicking off our preview tour of the fun shops included in this year’s Over the River Coffee Crawl! Today we just want to introduce ourselves at Downtown Coffee & Cream in Onawa, Iowa:) This is our 3rd year on the route, we helped organize and kick off the first OTR Coffee Crawl with our friend Lana Brown, back in 2023. This has by far become one of our busiest and fun events of the year! Our goal was to bring people from out of town in to visit all of these great little communities in our area and of course share our love for great coffee! All of the communities on the route have so much to offer!
At our shop we offer premium espresso and coffee drinks, HomeBaked bakery items (including gluten friendly), sourdough bagels & bread, lotus energy drinks & real fruit smoothies, and super premium ice cream straight from Wisconsin!
We can’t wait to see you on Saturday October 18th for our 3rd Annual Over the River Coffee Crawl!! ❤️☕️🍂

It’s official, the 2025 Over the River Coffee Crawl Route is here! Your favorite fall road trip is similar to the past route because we all love seeing your smiling faces! But we have some new friends and fresh ideas on the route this year too so there is plenty to look forward to!

This year, each shop will be featuring their own prize basket at their shop for you to win! The prize baskets will feature their own shop’s goods and a sampling from each of their individual communities. You can enter to win the prize at each individual shop when you make a purchase there, the day of the Coffee Crawl! So many more opportunities to win a prize! In the next couple weeks we will be featuring each shop on our page so make sure you keep an eye out for their features!

You can start the route wherever you would like! Some of the shops will be offering breakfast or lunch specials and those will be listed in their post on this page as well! We are all so excited to see you all!!

This is a self guided route, no need to register. There is no passport to punch this year since the prizes are at each shop. Our goal is to work together to highlight these small coffee shops in our area that are such a huge part of their community! We hope you take time to also explore each of their communities and what they have to offer!!
