✨1️⃣0️⃣✨TEN YEARS since our first local news feature! On August 23, 2016 we were featured on WOWT by our favorite now-retired local news anchor, John Knicely, and Don Granese. Sorry for the bad quality - this is a screen recording Jasmyn’s grandma’s Facebook post where she posted a phone recording of the original broadcast as it was aired live. 🥹 This was when we released our “Chai Spiced Coffee” where we fermented beans with whole chai spices to perfume them. They were a hit, and we were credited with “inventing” “perfumed coffee”, though I’m sure we’re not the only ones who had that idea!

🥹💕🌈 looking back, we are so incredibly thankful our Omaha community supported us so much when we were just fresh little baby coffee business business owners. Like, wow! This broadcast is so sweet.

📺💕🗞️ In August 2016, WOWT Channel 6 ran a news feature titled “Coffee couple invests in new brews,” highlighting the launch of Amateur Coffee in Omaha. The broadcast spotlighted married founders Jacob and Jasmyn Wichert, who officially launched the business earlier that year in April 2016. Jacob brought years of roasting experience, while Jasmyn utilized her skills in graphic design and branding to launch the company. At the time of the WOWT feature, they were roasting single-origin beans in small batches on a tiny 1-kilo roaster out of a facility just outside Douglas County before they had their official brick-and-mortar storefront on 39th + Cuming Streets.
