A good Italian meal can still slow the whole evening down a little, and that feels like a gift these days. Warm bread, red sauce, a plate that looks like somebody meant it to feed you right.

The room has that lived-in supper-club feel, the kind where people settle in and quit hurrying for a while. You can almost hear family birthdays, date nights, and birthday toasts stacked up over the years.

Places like this remind me why a proper sit-down dinner still matters. Not everything should come in a paper bag.
