Recap on Jacey and Tommie’s 18 hour trip to DC! 🛣️

We had the privilege to send Jacey off with love and support. Both mentally and physically! She will be pursuing her masters at Gorge Mason University in DC. Becoming part of less then 1% of foster kids who age out and pursue a master degree.

10 new faces, 1 powerful mission! ☕✨

We are so excited to announce that 10 new volunteers officially completed their orientation this week! Each of these incredible individuals is stepping up to make a real, lasting impact right here in our community.

A huge thank you to Astute Coffee (at 20th & Dodge) for opening their doors and welcoming us into their warm, wonderful space for training. 💛

Why was this partnership such a natural fit?

👉 Shared Purpose: Young adults aging out of the foster care system face a disproportionately high risk of experiencing homelessness. Astute Coffee is doing critical, hands-on work as a nonprofit that provides job training, mentorship, and employment to former foster youth.

👉 Trauma-Informed Care: At HEAL Omaha, we focus on healing, stability, and meeting people where they are—a philosophy Astute Coffee practices every day by providing supportive, safe environments for youth transitioning to independence.

👉 Community-Led Healing: We both believe that preventing homelessness isn't just about putting a roof over someone's head; it’s about surrounding people with community, life skills, and sustainable support.

When local organizations align to tackle root causes together, real transformation happens. Next time you need your morning caffeine fix, swing by 20th & Dodge, grab a cup, and support a business that invests directly in Omaha’s youth!

We are heartbroken at the sudden loss of our coworker and friend Levius. If you ever had the pleasure of meeting this kid you already loved him. He was smart as hell, a great conversationalist, and had a huge desire to make the world a better place. He is too young to be gone and he deserves to be celebrated and remembered. Rest in peace, Levius.
