Thanks Omaha Mom’s Guide!!

☀️🥵 OMG OMAHA FREE INDOOR THINGS TO DO WITH LITTLE ONES 🥵☀️
When it’s approximately 847 degrees outside and your toddler is still expecting a FULL DAY of entertainment… 😂 I got you!

A local mama messaged me asking for some ideas on FREE indoor places to take babies and toddlers, and I immediately thought.. okay, I KNOW she isn’t the only one looking! So whether you have a crawler, a brand-new walker, an energetic 2-year-old like me or you just need to GET. OUT. OF. THE. HOUSE… SAVE THIS LIST!💛

📚 1. OMAHA CENTRAL LIBRARY
📍 7205 Dodge St.
💲 FREE
This might honestly be my #1 pick because it’s great for little ones AND older kids! The Central Library has a fun indoor play area for little ones, and it’s right next to the Zen Coffee café 😉 it’s a win win! They also have a huge children's area upstairs, coloring, computers, tons of books, cozy reading areas and even a sensory space where lights and sounds can be reduced. They have a makers lab for older children too with a ton of stuff to learn and do!
THIS WEEK:
🎶 Tuesday, Sept. 1 — Music & Movement at 10:30 AM
🎶 Wednesday, Sept. 2 — Music & Movement at 10:30 AM
The Music & Movement is specifically designed for active toddlers around 12 months–3 years, but all are welcome!

👶 2. FREE BABY STORYTIMES ALL OVER OMAHA
Omaha Public Library seriously has SO MANY free options for this age. Baby Storytime is designed for ages 0–18 months, but children of all ages are welcome, and regular Storytime works for all ages!
A few happening THIS WEEK:
Bess Johnson Elkhorn Library
📍 2100 Reading Plaza in Elkhorn NE
📖 Tuesday, Sept. 1 — Baby Storytime 9:30 AND 10:30 AM
🎶 Wednesday, Sept. 2 — Music & Movement 10:30 AM
A.V. Sorensen Library
📍 4808 Cass St.
👶 Tuesday, Sept. 1 — Baby Storytime 9:15 AM
🎶 Friday, Sept. 4 — Music & Movement 10 AM
Saddlebrook Library
📍 14850 Laurel Ave.
📚 Tuesday, Sept. 1 — Storytime 10:30 AM
👶 Thursday, Sept. 3 — Baby Storytime 9:30 AND 10:30 AM
Millard Library
👶 Wednesday, Sept. 2 — Baby Storytime 9:30 AM
📚 Storytime 10:30 AM
Basically you could have a different library playdate almost every day. 🤷‍♀️👏 🤣

🧸 3. FAT BRAIN TOYS — TODDLER TUESDAY
📍 16909 Burke St.
💲 FREE
I feel like this is one even I forget sometimes! Fat Brain is super hands-on, where kids can actually play with and test a bunch of toys without needing to buy anything. They also host FREE Toddler Tuesdays at 10:30 AM most weeks.
👮 Tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 10:30 AM, kids can meet a Nebraska State Trooper + K9 plus check out the cruiser! 🚔🐕

🛝 4. THE SILO AT THE COMMONS
📍 15801 Butler Ave, inside StoneBridge Church
💲 FREE
Okay THIS is a fantastic hidden one. Inside The Commons is The Silo, a completely FREE indoor climbing/play structure that the church specifically created as a gift to the community — and you absolutely do NOT have to attend the church to use it. Kids remove shoes but DO NEED 🧦 SOCKS & Bonus: mommy gets a coffee 😁
☕ The Commons is open:
Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–1 PM &
Sundays 8 AM–12 PM
This is perfect for meeting another mom, letting the kids play and grabbing a latte if you want one.

🧸 5. WESTROADS MALL TOT LOT
📍 inside of Westroads Mall, level 2 I think
💲 FREE
Yep! The mall still has a FREE kids play area near Dick's Sporting Goods and Raising Canes chicken. Plus there is a Family Lounge right beside it with private restrooms and nursing rooms, which is AMAZING when you're out with babies. 👶🏼

🎨 6. THE JOSLYN ART MUSUEM
📍 2200 Dodge St.
💲 FREE
Don't automatically rule an art museum out with toddlers! The Joslyn has ART WORKS, a hands-on family creativity space, which all three of my kids love.. plus tons to walk around and look at, and a cafe downstairs that serves some delicious food!
⏰ Tuesday–Sunday 10 AM–4 PM
🌙 Thursdays are open late, until 8 PM
Closed Mondays.
This is a really good option when you need an outing that works for little kids AND older siblings.

🐟 7. CABELA'S AQUARIUM + WILDLIFE
📍 Cabela's in La Vista, NE
💲 FREE
I know it's technically a store… but to a little kid, this is basically a field trip. 😂 The La Vista Cabela's has a huge aquarium, plus all the animals and wildlife displays. There’s a lot for little ones to look at while staying cool inside.
⏰ Monday–Saturday 9 AM–9 PM
Sunday 10 AM–7 PM

🚂 8. UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD MUSEUM
📍 200 Pearl St. in Council Bluffs, IA
💲 FREE
If your toddler is currently in the TRAIN ERA 🚂😂, add this one to your list. There are multiple floors of railroad displays, interactive exhibits and tons to look at. General admission is free.
⏰ Thursday–Saturday 10 AM–6 PM
This Sunday, Sept. 6 is also within the museum's seasonal Sunday schedule of noon–6 PM.
Closed Mondays-Wednesdays!

📌 SHARE THIS POST to save it for some free indoor inspiration & PLEASE comment any other FREE spots I may have missed because I would LOVE to turn this into a giant list! 💛

Calling local women-owned businesses. 💗
On October 3 we're hosting LiFT-HER: FALL OPEN STUDIO at LiFT Studio, and I'm building a raffle. I want it full of local women-owned businesses.
If you've followed along, you saw what happened when Krystal from Tiny Tattoos by Beautymark by K joined us in July — one of my favorite days of the whole summer, and it started with exactly this kind of ask.
What helps: a product, a gift card, or a service our community would love.
What you get: featured at the event, tagged across our socials, and in front of a room of women who genuinely shop local.
Tag a woman-owned business below, or comment DONATE and I'll follow up personally. 🐯
