We love a local partnership that comes full circle. Meet Maya.
If you've enjoyed the fresh baked goods at Hill of Beans, you already know Maya's work.

Maya is the talented baker behind our treats, but she’s also a massive part of our coffee community in another way.

When she isn't baking for us, she’s running Heaven Scent Coffee LLC, a mobile pop-up serving up our wholesale coffee to the Valley/Waterloo/Springfield area.

We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all roast. Tom spends hours testing and refining every variety we carry to find the exact "sweet spot" that brings out its unique flavor profile.

It’s a tedious process, but it's how we raise the bar with our coffee, and it's worth it.

It’s a glamorous life, but someone has to do it.

You wouldn’t believe the amount of dust that comes with roasting and grinding fresh beans. It's the price we pay for keeping the coffee fresh and the shop clean.

The best coffee is coffee that was ground five minutes ago, not five months ago.

Grocery store bags can sit for a year before they reach your cup, which is why we only grind your beans the moment you order them.

Keeping it whole bean is best, but if you need a grind, we do it on-site and heat-seal the bag to lock in that flavor profile until you get brew it.
