RESTAURANT UPDATE:

I’ve been dreading this moment, unfortunately we have closed Jack & Mary's Restaurant.

As a 47 year old staple of Omaha that thrived off of dine in customers and business, office catering the pandemic hit us hard. Honestly we never imagined that it would hit us this hard.

We had over a 70% decrease in revenue last year from the previous year and a $330k loss in 2020. 2021 so far has not been any better and our losses have again reached six figure status. Our business model was setup to do X amount of business and we have not been able to get to X numbers again.

I’ve worked at J&M for over 13 years and my family has owned it 11 of those years. We know that we are very capable and know how to run a successful thriving Ma & Pa restaurant. We averaged over 2200 dine in guest per week in 2019 as well as weekly caterings that fed 600+ people. In addition to that we employed anywhere from 30-40 people.

We do hope that at some point we can reopen and bring back the famous homemade comfort food so many have enjoyed for over 40 years. We hope this isn’t a forever goodbye, hopefully it’s a see you later.

We are so grateful for all the loyal customers and staff we have and the fact that for over 40 years you all kept us going. Truly an amazing loyal customer base who feels like family. I know many employees felt the same way, we were a big family.

Please keep an eye out for our famous chicken logo as we hope to hang that sign again one day and pull the cord to the OPEN sign, but for now we will call it a see you later. - Kip

Wishing everyone a Happy Independence Day! Jack & Mary's will be closed today to celebrate the holiday and will be taking a vacation to give our amazing team a break today through the 12th. Thank you! Happy 4th!

There will be a lot of gatherings this weekend to celebrate the holiday! Bring some Jack & Mary's to the party on Friday or Saturday (we will be closed on the 4th)! We have a Family Pack that serves 10 people, pan sized wraps and salads, lots of delicious sides in a wide range of sizes from half pints to gallons. We just celebrated National Onion Ring Day and today it's National Catfish Day! We've got the best fried catfish around. 17 oz whole fish dipped in our special batter and fried. Served with two sides.
