What if there was a way to buy my tea in person WITHOUT having to look at my stupid face? Now there is! 2 ounce gifty bags of several of my blends are now available at the counter during the week! It’s a random assortment of some of the more interesting blends right now, but let me know if there’s one you want to see and I can add it to the lineup!

Spend enough time in this industry and you run into a decent amount of arbitrary gatekeeping (and depending on what part of the industry you’re in, some pretty racist gatekeeping, too). A post a few days back from specifically about chai got me thinking about what a lot of people consider “real” (or in this context legitimate is probably more apt) tea. The tradition of self-appointed experts complaining that people are doing it wrong goes all the way back to Lu Yu, and is at this point as old as any other tea tradition that exists today. While I’m always striving to make my tea better, it’s important to reflect on how we define that, and how we act toward people who do things differently than we do. I could ramble endlessly on this topic, but I’ll spare you.

Loving this powdered from . I don’t drink a lot of straight matcha on my own, but the addition of toasted rice gives it a “cozy” feel that makes it easier to sip on casually. As a latte, the toasted rice kind of tastes like cereal milk (in a good way). I’ll be serving it as long as it lasts, so come give it a try!

So here’s the deal: after being closed for the weekend, I find myself sitting on a sizable batch of sweet potato purée that I don’t want to keep in the fridge until next weekend.
SO: for this week, while supplies last, if you send me $4 via PayPal [email protected], I’ll show up to your house, dorm, job, or wherever you specify after 4pm with a piping hot sweet potato milk tea! Milk of your choice, but oat is preferred since I’m also sitting on a bunch of that. (Deal also applies to brown sugar hojicha, you know who you are.)

It’s cold and wet again, and that means the return of sweet potato milk tea! Assam black tea, house made brown sugar syrup, house made sweet potato purée, and the milk or your choice. It’s like drinking a slice of sweet potato pie.

The in-person component of Rogue Teas will be closed Monday to Friday beginning Monday, September 20th. Rogueteas.shop will remain in operation, and local deliveries can still be done on the same day. Also, if anyone is interested in tastings/fancy tea parties, let me know. I can come to you!

Chamomile, Spearmint, Sage, Rosemary, Cinnamon, Anise.
The mint has been helping with the smoke. The rest is comforting.
