Today, our family experienced an upsetting incident at our restaurant.
Three older men dined in and spent over 30 minutes eating their meals in full. Afterward, they demanded a refund, claiming the food was “too cold.” When we explained that we could not issue a refund after the food had already been consumed, they began threatening to leave harmful reviews and stated that they were “well known” in the Olney community.
The situation escalated further when they attempted to cover our surveillance cameras, threw items, and directed deeply inappropriate, racially charged language toward our family. Out of concern for safety, the refund was ultimately given.
Running a small, family-owned business is not easy—especially in today’s economy and with language barriers—but we continue to show up every day with care and respect for our customers. We welcome constructive feedback, but we do not tolerate harassment, threats, or discrimination toward our staff and family.
Behavior like this has no place in our restaurant. We reserve the right to refuse service, and any future incidents of harassment or threatening behavior will be escalated to the appropriate authorities.
We truly appreciate the continued support from our community and those who stand with small businesses like ours. ❤️
Best,
China Wok Buffet Family
