Not every ballpark serves BBQ pulled pork… so why do we?
Because 10 years ago, when the White Squirrel Snack Shack started as a small family business venture, we knew we wanted to share something special with our community — Papaw Bill Ritter’s homemade BBQ sauce.
Papaw Bill would bottle up his sauce himself, and we knew from the beginning that it deserved a place at the ballpark. So we chose pulled pork.
To this day, we still do it the same way:
Low and slow.
We slow roast our pork butts for 12–16 hours until they’re tender enough to pull apart by hand. Then comes the important part — mixing in Big Bill’s BBQ sauce, made with local honey and the same flavor that started it all.
Our BBQ nachos became one of the first big hits at the shack… and then came the “Piggy Back” — a hot dog smothered in pulled pork and BBQ sauce. Total game changer.
Over the years, we’ve made plenty of changes at the White Squirrel Snack Shack, but one thing that has never changed is our sauce and the story behind it.
Every order of pulled pork we serve is a little piece of family tradition.
Thank you for supporting our small family business for the last 10 years — and thank you for helping keep Papaw Bill’s BBQ legacy alive, one ballgame at a time. ❤️
