**Olive Branch Bids Farewell to a 47-Year Culinary Haven**
After 47 years of serving up cherished memories and delicious BBQ, Old Style Bar-B-Q, one of the first restaurants to grace the culinary landscape of Olive Branch, announces its heartfelt closure. This marks the end of an era as the beloved establishment bids goodbye to a loyal and supportive customer base.
It was founded in 1976 by Richard and Carla Dlugach as Colemans Bar-B-Q, then later changed to Old Style Bar-B-Q in 1983. Old Style quickly became a cornerstone of the community, known not only for its BBQ but also for the warm and inviting atmosphere that welcomed generations of patrons. From family celebrations to quiet date nights, the restaurant has been the backdrop to countless moments of joy, laughter, and shared meals.
The decision to close the doors was undoubtedly a difficult one for the Dlugach Family. Yet, they express profound gratitude to the community that has embraced them for nearly five decades. The restaurant has thrived on the unwavering support of its dedicated customers, and The Dlugach’s wish to extend sincere thanks to each person who made Old Style Bar-B-Q a cherished part of their lives.
As Olive Branch bids farewell to this landmark, the memories created within its walls will undoubtedly live on. The restaurant has nourished bodies and forged lasting connections within the community.
While the closing of Old Style Bar-B-Q may bring a tinge of sadness, the owners express optimism about the future. Old Style may be closing its doors, but a new beginning will grace Olive Branch patrons after building renovations. The Dlugach Family wishes Mike and Melinda Wilson, owners of Delta Steakhouse in Senatobia, MS, the best of luck as they open Mike Wilson’s Steakhouse and BBQ. Mike’s parents owned three Coleman’s Bar-B-Q Franchises, which encouraged Mike to start this new collaboration of steak and BBQ. The memories, friendships, and the enduring spirit of community fostered within those walls will continue to resonate.
Thank you, Olive Branch, for 47 remarkable years. Old Style Bar-B-Q may be saying goodbye, but its legacy will linger in the hearts and taste buds of those fortunate enough to have been part of its journey. The final day of service will be December 30th, 2023.
