Posting a pic of how I feel vs. how I look right now because honey y’all ran me raggedy all week long in the very best way possible 🤣🙌🏾 No but like seriously family, after I closed I was driving home and just started crying. Not sad tears but just thanking God for my life and how far He has brought me. In just 6 days will be the 10th anniversary of me going into my second major spinal surgery (out of 3) and almost not making it out alive. The doctors counted me out, it says so in my medical records. Kidney failure/dialysis, heart failure, double pneumonia, and sepsis…ya girl was fighting for her life. It took a couple of months to learn to walk again and a few years to get to my new “normal”. Though my condition is chronic and I suffer in my body daily…even when I look fine, I’m just grateful y’all. I’m cooking for a living. I never had an interest to cook and never cared to learn until I was 30 years old. Just to witness all of the love through Naija Wife Kitchen everyone poured into me this week literally brought me to tears.

Thank you all soooo so much again for EVERYTHING this week! You have no idea how much your love and support means to me. Thank y’all for being kind, as small as that may seem…kindness can change someone’s life and you all showed up and showed out in that area. When I say I love y’all Oklahoma, I mean it with everything in me. I was given a second chance at life and I’m glad to have each and everyone of you in it! Now I’m about to eat me a bologna sandwich and pass OUT 🤣🤣🤣 Have a great weekend and please be safe! Love y’all and I’ll see you on Monday!

The sounds of good ole Lagos traffic 😜, the endless festivities and parties🎉, the hospitality, and of course the food🥘….omg the FOOD! I want to share a few fun facts as well as pics from my last trip in the comments! Pay attention because trivia will be coming soon!

Our Peanut Butter Soup is definitely the “weirdo” of the bunch lol 🥜 🍲 Some say it tastes like peanut butter, some say it doesn’t 🤷🏾‍♀️ …but most say that it’s one of the most rich and comforting meals they’ve ever tasted. You can choose to eat it over rice (which I personally prefer) or fufu…but just be prepared to go straight to sleep afterwards if you choose to go about it in this manner 😜 The best thing about this meal is that it’s not only protein packed, but it’s always a walk in special with a discounted price! However if you can’t get downtown, it’s on DoorDash and Ubereats for delivery! Have a beautiful Thursday and see ya soon! Oh yes, and we are a completely Gluten Free restaurant!

Hey y’all! For all of my new followers/customers…I just wanted to reintroduce myself! My name is Tahnee (not Naija as many think lol), and I’m the owner/cook at Naija Wife Kitchen. Naija is simply the nickname or “pidgin” English word for Nigeria. With me marrying into the culture years ago, I became a “Naija Wife” hence the business name.

No I’m not a trained chef (as a matter of fact…I can barely cook American food 🤣), but simply a wife who had to learn to feed her husband, developed a passion along the way, and became dang good at it. Honestly, with Naija Wife Kitchen, I just wanted to share my beautiful adopted culture with my fellow Americans through food. I noticed many people say they were “scared” to try African food and I decided to change the narrative.

Yes our main focus is the flavor, but what sets us apart is that we educate whoever will listen about the ingredients, regional/tribal aspects and even the customs behind certain dishes. This is also why FREE SAMPLES have always been and will always be available. This is not just food, it’s passion, it’s culture…it’s what I live.

I’m just a girl who was born an Okie, raised a Texan, married Nigerian, and am trying to tie them all together as beautifully as I can. Thank you all for rocking with me so strong throughout this journey. I’m deeply grateful. As always it’s….

Listen, I don’t know if y’all are just really over the 4th of July weekend leftovers, or y’all just really like my food…but honey y’all have been showing OUT since Monday 🤣🤣🙌🏾 I’ve met so many new people driving from all over the state and had so many great conversations. Even through Doordash everyone has been talking to me in the note section LOL! Like not just wanting their food a certain way, but leaving almost full paragraphs wishing me well or making me laugh. If I tell you I love my state! I was raised in TX, gone 23 years before coming back to my hometown of OKC and I can tell you that the hospitality and sense of community is like none other. Many of you have become like family to me and we’ve gone through several life transitions together. Trust me that wherever this unconventional path leads, I’ll never forget times like these 🥹 Thank you Oklahoma for making my week, and it’s only Wednesday lol. Love y’all for real foreal! See you tomorrow!

What has been selling like crazy for the past two weeks? These things ⬇️ Fish Steaks. It’s tilapia y’all…(though I’ve had someone refer to them as the best tasting shark fins ever 🫠🤣)we just cut it a certain way hence the “steaks” and of course our authentic Nigerian spice marinade and nope they aren’t battered! That’s a Nigerian thing. So anywho, if you’re skeptical, I would just go ahead and try ‘em. You can add them to any soup or stew, or they come as a meal over jollof rice smothered in our famous pepper stew…and oh yes…don’t forget a stewed egg for a little razzle dazzle 💃🏾✨ We’re opening at 11am y’all! Are y’all ready for today? Our Jollof Rice has been the star for the past few weeks. You can eat it with any soup, order as a side, and it also comes with meals such as our Spicy Suya Wings, Plantains, Jollof, and Stew, Fish Steaks with Jollof, Stewed Chicken and Jollof, and our Fried Platter. It’s smokey, it’s flavorful, it’s a Nigerian staple! What Does Jollof Rice Taste Like? Jollof is smoky and spicy, with a hint of sweetness from the tomatoes. Thanks to the herbs and seasonings, it really does have multiple layers of flavor. It’s cooked slowly and infused with rich flavor! Dont forget we are on DoorDash, Ubereats, and Grubhub for delivery 🚗

Each West African country has at least one variant form of the dish, with Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Cameroon particularly competitive as to which country makes the best jollof. This is especially prominent between Nigeria and Ghana,in a rivalry dubbed the "Jollof Wars". Maybe you’ve heard about this particular jollof rivalry lol.

07/06/2026

Sooooo y’all are just making it a rice day huh?? 🤣🤣🙌🏾 It’s been soo many Fish Steaks with Jollof, Naija Fried Platters, Lunch Box specials, Wings N’ Eggs, and Stewed Chicken with Jollof meals y’all I couldn’t even count! For the first hour we were slow…then BOOM! 3 huge groups of people and Doordash AND Ubereats started going off back to back LOL! Thank y’all so much! The good news is that we still have plenty of soups and fufu because the Jollof has been going like crazy today 😜 Love y’all!

Just checking in family! Y’all alright over there? I know we had some really bad storms last night. I was getting unpacked at my new place and lost power for a few minutes. I heard Norman got hit pretty hard. Sincerely hoping everyone is ok!

07/04/2026

Y’all so how come I was at a stop light earlier and this guy pulls up beside me on a four wheeler. He has on a helmet (yay! we love a safety king lol🙌🏾) so I can’t really see all of his features. Anywho we make eye contact and I shoot up the peace sign to say hi because ya know I’m a people person 🤣 He then starts doing motions with his hands while looking at me like he’s eating. Ok he looks kinda young, like early mid/twenties so I’m thinking he’s doing that eat eat dance all the young folks are doing on social media. So boom…I start doing the eat eat dance with him, just laughing and grooving thinking I’m all cool because I’m a fun kinda gal 🤣He kind of smirks and we both drive off as the light turns green. As I’m driving it hit me that I actually kinda do know his face. That’s one of my customers who recognized me from the restaurant and the eat eat dance was actually him acknowledging that I’m Naija Wife who cooks food. Hence the eating gestures. And here I was thinking it was a friendly dance battle….Im actually mortified now 😩😩😩🤣 Great way to start the holiday LOL!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Eat Eat Dance in the comments 🤦🏾‍♀️

Me thinking I was gonna close early since barely anybody was open downtown because of the holiday observance 🤣 I was literally the only restaurant open in the food court today and honey y’all turned us every which way but LOOSE 🤣🤣🙌🏾 It was sooooo busy just like last Friday! We had people drive from out of town, a bunch of my regular customers, so many first timers, and even a handful of people who hadn’t been to see me since my original location across from the bus station on Hudson & 4th! That was years ago! Thank y’all soooo so much much Oklahoma for your love and support. We had us a BALL today lol. My legs are shaking and I’m about to pass out for the night, but I am just as happy as can be hahahaha! I appreciate y’all like seriously. Please be safe tomorrow and whatever you do, remember not to drink and drive. Love y’all and see you Monday!
