A Heartfelt Thank You from Tantay
Friends, family, customers, and our incredible Lansing community — after much reflection, we’ve made the difficult decision to close Tantay’s restaurant and food truck operations.
Running a food business is a beautiful challenge — one filled with meaningful connections, growth, and countless lessons. Over the past few years, I’ve faced two major health challenges — a serious knee injury and a brain surgery — both of which reminded me what truly matters most: health, family, and time.
After deep thought, my family and I know this is the best step forward.
This journey has been nothing short of transformative. From private dinners and farmers markets, to our food truck and brick-and-mortar restaurant, every step was built with love, culture, and community at its core.
We are so proud to have put Peruvian cuisine on the Lansing map and to have shared the flavors and stories of Peru with you all.
To every customer, teammate, organization, and collaboration that supported, encouraged, and believed in this vision — thank you from the bottom of my heart. Because of you all, Tantay became more than a restaurant — it became a family.
A special thank you to our landlords, the Forsberg family, for helping turn an idea into something truly special. Thank you so much.
