Did you know Ashley started Color Kitchen 10 years ago, but that wasn’t the beginning of her journey with plant-based pigments. It all started long before that, after her journey with sensitivities as a child, a paint company, and ended with her creating the color you bake with today.

If you haven’t yet, the full written version is linked in bio.

Before Color Kitchen was a brand, it was an artist with allergies and a paintbrush.

Ashley grew up learning the hard way how much ingredients matter - and later, without really planning to, ended up bringing that same eye for color into the kitchen.

Swipe through for the full story of how a paint company turned into the color on your cupcakes. 🧁😉

What’s one thing you’d want to ask Ashley about how Color Kitchen got started? Drop it below, and she’ll answer it herself! More of the story linked in bio.

As a child, Ashley discovered she had sensitivities to chemical additives. Raised by a nutritionist mom, she grew up paying close attention to what was actually in her food - and how it made her feel.

Long before Color Kitchen, Ashley had a background in the arts - and she put it to work making safe, plant-based paints. That company was called GLOB, and it sold across the US and internationally.

Then grocery stores started asking a different question: ‘What do you have for decorating food?’

And that question became COLOR KITCHEN.

Same instinct, new medium. Clean, plant-based color - made by someone who actually understands pigment, not just food science.

Ashley still tests every shade herself. Welcome to the (color) kitchen! Follow along and ask Ashley a question below!
